Horrible
Iron leaks everywhere. Steam shoots out of control. I have never disliked an iron so much!

Fire the engineer! Did anybody test this design?
Giving ZERO stars. Poorly designed! Can’t use without changing temp constantly. Has half the amount of steam holes as previous irons. Have owned several D2030 irons and then the D2530. Those irons are work horses and lasted years. I bought them for parents and in-laws. I bought them for my college kids. But this D3060 is poorly designed at best!

30 second auto shutoff WHILE IRONING
The thing shuts off every 30 sec even while iron is being used flat on ironing board. I checked the manual and this is a (ridiculous) setting that the manufacturer has built into their product. It's a shame because it makes it very difficult and annoying to use for both sewing and garment ironing. I can recommend this product for the excellent amount of steam and good amount of heat needed for both sewing and garments, but the auto shutoff being 30 sec instead of minutes like others makes it almost useless.

Excellent purchase
I purchased the allure steam iron a month ago, by black and decker it is a great steam iron, selection of temperatures are great and the amount of steam gives you the finish you are looking for.

some bad design issues
It's not all bad, but it's not all good. As others have said the iron is quite heavy. It also took me a while to realize that the temperature button would very easily be bumped if you held the iron closer to the front. At first, the iron kept turning on and off, and maybe going to a much lower setting (I was ironing on linen, the highest setting). And then I realized if I was careful with hand placement, it wouldn't happen. Unfortunately that gives you much less control of what you are doing and since I use the iron a lot for sewing, both that issue and the weight would make it harder to use for opening seams after sewing and similar needs that require finer control. But at least it steams which my old iron had quit doing. I'll probably have to use the old one and this one. As others have said, also not easy to see in the water compartment and not that easy to get the water in as the top only opens part way. Seems like this wasn't designed by anyone who actually irons. So good and bad. For an inexpensive iron, it will do the trick, I think. Probably should have gotten a different one.

New iron
I really like the iron but I find the placement of the temp control button is odd. It is easy to accidentally change it by your grip on the handle. Otherwise an excellent appliance. Heats up and cools down quickly when you need to change the temp depending on the fabric

Smooth ironing
After first use: Love the hand grip feel. Smooth stainless steel ironing surface. Still adjusting the cord position....the adjuster is handy -- not always the same. The water input for steam different: holds ample water; changing positions is new.

New Iron
I bought this in July. It works well but I am disappointed in how easy it is because of the grip and placement of the control to change the Power Level and even to shut it off in the middle of ironing.
