You get what you pay for

Overall, this is very nice food. I'd say it's on par with Farmer's Dog. All of my dogs liked it, I'm a fan of how it's made (nice soft texture), and the ingredients are excellent. I studied a lot of animal nutrition in college, and this gets my seal of approval. I'm very picky. My one con is the price, because this stuff is EXPENSIVE. But, I feed a very expensive food to my geriatric dog anyway, so you have to weigh the good against the bad. If it's within your budget, go for it; it's great. If not, try it as a topper or as treats. I'd use it again.

No horrible smell

My dogs previous food had a terrible fishy smell every time I opened the bag to feed her. This one actually smells good and my dachshund loves it! I can even give her a bite or two throughout the day as a treat for coming inside instead of a milk bone. Healthier alternative!

Finally Something My Sweet Old Girl Loves!

After trying so many options, I finally found something my senior pup with bad teeth actually loves. She’s super picky, but she goes crazy for Because It’s Better. At first, I mixed it with her kibble—she’d spit out the hard pieces and only eat this! Even her 80lb brother started sneaking bites, so now he gets a scoop as a topper too. It’s such a relief to see them both happy at mealtime, and it puts my mind at ease knowing she’s not struggling to chew or swallowing hard kibble whole anymore.
