The ASUS ASUS LITE Portable USB 2.0 Slim 8X DVD/ Burner +/- Rewriter External Drive (SDRW-08D2S-U) can be connected to a Chromebook to read data files on discs, but it is not officially supported for playing movie DVDs or burning discs with the default ChromeOS.
