Q: How long is the plate that mounts under the desk? Need to know if it will fit under a sit stand desk that has a bar across the middle under the desktop. Most are about 18” and I only have 12” clearance. Thanks.

  • A: The mounting plate is nearly 16" deep. It's good to check the space available under the desk, I ran into the same issue with a standing desk's support bar and motor transmission bar blocking me from installing the tray as designed. Since all models of keyboard tray seem to have the same issue, I cut wood scrap into 4 spacers 1 5/8" thick. I then used 2" screws to secure the mounting plate to the desk with the spacers creating enough of a gap to pass the obstacles.

  • A: The ergonomic KT1 Under-Desk keyboard tray mounts underneath your desk via the included screws. In general, this keyboard tray is screwed directlw to your solid desktop (not to drawers). As long as you desktop can accept screws, this Keyboard Tray should work. The manufacturer has a how-to-assemble video on their website (in general it takes about 15-30 min depending on your proficiency).

Really good tray, check the space available under your desk

Very adjustable and sturdy as advertised. This product and pretty much all keyboard trays don't show the dimensions of the mounting plate. At about 16" in depth from the front edge of the desk, I found it too deep to mount under my standing desk due to the structural support and motor transmission. I had to cut up a 2x4 to make spacers to mount it below the obstacles, as pictured.
