A derivative of vitamin A, Adapalene Gel 0.1% is a member of the retinoid ingredient family and previously only available by prescription. Retinoids help slow down the accumulation of dead skin cells in the pores, which is a main contributor to breakouts. Retinoids also help prevent and improve white heads and blackheads because they increase cell turnover. Adapalene Gel is Oil-Free, Fragrance-Free and dermatologist developed.

What to Expect?

Please be careful if you have sensitive skin

I usually never return used products however, I paid a lot of money for this cream. It did the opposite of what it was supposed to do. I bought it to restore my skin barrier however, it made my barrier worse. This product dried out my skin really bad, and on top of that every time I tried getting product out of the tube water would squirt out of the tube. (I looked up this issue to see if it was happening to anyone else who purchased the product and it was! I read some reviews that said to shake the product and the issue would be fixed however that did not work.) This is one of the worst products I’ve tried. I am very disappointed with this purchase because I heard so many good reviews about this product. (I’ve never written a review however this product really damaged my skin barrier) ;(

Great product ... but

This was great for the bumps on my skin and my clogged pores. The only issue is that it makes your skin very thin and you CANNOT get your eyebrows waxed while using this product or your skin will get burned and ripped off. Do not ask why I know this.

I wouldn’t recommend, it wasn’t full enough as another has stated here. I’ve purchased this 1-2 times and it’s been okay. It’s rarely on sale enough to beat out offbrand at pharmacy stores. Those work better also. There can be quality control regarding this brands bottle, my last purchase had a plastic stopper I had much difficulty getting off. I didn’t have this issue with the first.

Face loves it! Neck, not so much...

I am obsessed with the facial results. I’ve been struggling with adult hormonal acne and my usual benzoyl routine that I’ve used forever had suddenly not been doing the job anymore! I’ve been trying different skin care options, and I added this a few weeks ago.. it definitely did take a week or two for me to see a difference, but BE WARNED: I actually received a really bed chemical burn from this (look it up— it’s called a retinol burn) and even though I hadn’t been applying it to my lower neck/collarbone area it must have been rubbing there at nighttime and it gave me the worst rash/skin peel/sunburn-looking area and it was actually quite uncomfortable. My skin peeled horribly there and after 3-4 days it did go away. I did stop using this product during that time period for fear that more would get on the already burned skin… but, I did resume again on my face once it cleared up and thankfully have not had any further issues. I still give it 5 stars because the retinol burn was worth it if it’s going to keep my face clear, but it was a very uncomfortable few days! Also, I love that this is the same as Differin gel but just a cheaper alternative. No need to spend the extra money on brand name!

Results in days!

My son has been using the gel on his moderate to severe acne and in just two weeks his skin has improved significantly. I noticed a difference after day two. He uses it along with the acnefree sulfur face cleanser. It's a miracle.

Similar to tretinoin

There is a growing body of research showing similar results to retin-A although the mechanism of cellular turnover utilized slightly different cellular receptors. Choosing adapalene over tretinoin saved time off of work to sit in a dermatologist’s office.
