  • A: It's also worth noting that consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series X will not support 240Hz. So, while they can go up to 4K, they max out at 120Hz refresh rate.

Here's a breakdown of the most common culprits and how to fix them: 1. The Cable Matters: DisplayPort is Key: To get 240Hz at 1440p, you absolutely need a DisplayPort cable. HDMI, even the newer versions, might not carry enough bandwidth. Make sure it's a DisplayPort cable, and preferably version 1.4 or higher. Cable Quality: Even with DisplayPort, a poor-quality or damaged cable can limit your refresh rate. Try a different DisplayPort cable if you have one. 2. Arrived late and was broken on arrival. If you're going to buy a monitor, go anywhere other than target and acer.
