Book Synopsis

Thad Oliver was told that the cabin in the woods on the edge of his property had once belonged to a lumber baron by the name of Harold Salter. The cabin had been a hunting lodge back before the two world wars but was abandoned years ago after old Salter died, left to slowly tumble down, a victim of the persistent winds and weather in this rugged northeast corner of Oregon. So, when he drove out in his Jeep with his black lab, Rambo, to take a look, he was shocked when he saw lantern light shining in one of the windows.
