i bought this base for a 9-ft umbrella (also from Target), which should be the correct weight base for this size umbrella. However, after only a couple of days, the closed umbrella blew over in very little wind. the umbrella broke on impact, I hadn't even had the chance to use it. Be sure to buy a much heavier base for your umbrella.

I would have given 5 stars for quality; however, the coating on the base was cracked when I opened the package and pieces fell off. I would have asked for a replacement but didn't feel like bothering with returning it since it weighs 36 lbs. It will suit its purpose and seems to be a good size and weight for my patio umbrella.

Good one!
We wanted an umbrella that would stay put during heavy winds. This one does the trick. It has enough weight to not get blown over.
