Description
The Worx Nitro WP196 40V Power Share Cordless Attachment-Capable Driveshare 15” String Trimmer was designed to give any lawn or property professional-looking landscaping results. Driveshare is the Worx system of lawncare attachments (sold separately) that turn your String Trimmer into a Hedge Trimmer, Brush Cutter, Pole Saw, or an Edger. Save money and space by purchasing the Driveshare system rather than 5 separate tools. You gain the capability of an entire lawncare detailing system when you start using Driveshare. But what truly sets the Nitro 40V String Trimmer apart from your average battery-operated trimmer is its gas-like performance. This isn’t your standard 20V cordless trimmer. We’ve doubled its potential, and when paired with two high-capacity Power Share PRO batteries, you’ll enjoy power comparable to gas-powered trimmers without the expense, fumes, or mess. The cutting line length is 20 ft., and the line diameter is 0.095 in. The specs of this String Trimmer are comparable with commercial-grade outdoor power tools. The Driveshare attachment trimmer system was engineered to provide functionality that’s perfect for property owners with larger, more complex lawns.

better than gas
I was amazed at the quality of the speed and how easy it was to use compared to a gas, heavy trimmer. I highly recommend this particular model because you can add on the of the tools which makes us even more powerful

Amazing power
This is one powerful trimmer and with all the available attachments, it is definitely worth the money. It almost needs another lower speed for easier weeds to cut.

Driveshare Line feed horrible
I have a Worx wall in my garage which has most of my WORX tools. I have one of your string trimmers that works great. When the driveshare multi attachment tool was offered I grabbed it. First time I used it the string head came off. I am very dissapointed with this tool . I have the pole saw and brush cutter attachments but may not use these. Can someone let me know how a tool that is new have a string head come off when it is first used

Weeding
I could be very happy with this product if I could figure out how to get the string rewound. I let it get to short and know it is in the spool and I can't get it back thru access holes. A good set of directions or a video would be nice. I figure if I take the head off completely it will unwind all the string. I have used your string trimmers before and love them but this one has me stumped.

Good cutting device
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Trimmer works as expected. Battery life is a little shorter than I prefer, but I have 2 additional batteries because I also have a WORX chainsaw. Handles all of the attachments from my previous gas powered trimmer.

Powerful, versatile, but!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tool is as powerful as a gas trimmer and is versatile with the attachments. The only problem is the battery life. The batteries on full charge will not get my yard completely trimmed. I purchased the blower with 2 more batteries and charger and still cannot get my yard done with 4 fully charged batteries. Love the tool, not the batteries!

Things legit, as are all the worx tools I’ve used
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good power, suitable run time, quick and easy! Have bought a handful of worx tools lately and all have been solid. So good, I’ve even returned some to “buy a more suitable worx long term replacement” and even the return process was pretty painless! Happy, for now, that I went worx over ego/green works 🤷♂️

Best trimmer I have ever had.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very strong trimmer works great. As an edger I've had a lot of other trimmers, mainly gas and once I converted to this a couple years ago I will never go back to the gas again. Had a couple different battery trimmers and this trimmer is the best so far I've ever had. And this trimmer is every bit of his powerful as a gas trimmer.

Powerful with ok battery life, terrible manual
The trimmer works very well and is powerful. You will do a good job with it; however, you will need two pairs of 20V batteries because the battery life expectancy is mediocre at best, even in eco mode which helps. But the manual is pure amateur hour. I can honestly say the absolute worst user guide manual I have ever read. I review product manuals written by a technical writing department so I know what I’m talking about. For example, there is next to nothing telling you how to replace the string. It’s easy but you need to go online and watch a video you find on your own. The manual has poor illustrations which are too small. Go online and download the pdf so you can better see the illustrations. Pros: very powerful, very quiet, driveshare is nice for accessories (but I just had a bad experience with driveshare and will await tech support’s solution before reviewing that accessory). Cons: battery life, very poor manual lacking string replacement explanation and video link. Overall, I would recommend the 15” nitro trimmer but get another pair of batteries and watch a vid.

Trims effectively but slings rocks
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Upon opening the box, I began removing the components of the Nitro 40V Power Share Cordless String Trimmer and I was really impressed by the durable feel of the equipment. At the same time, I was a bit concerned about the heavy weight of the tool because I worried that it might cause fatigue when used for an extended period. The trimmer uses two batteries, adding additional weight, which only worsens the issue. Assembly was fairly straightforward and did not require any instructions. I was able to simply follow the picture on the box label as a guideline using the included multi-tool. Once the trimmer was complete, it was quite heavy, which would not have been a huge problem if it hadn’t been for the cheaply made thin and hollow handle. Not only does the handle bend easily but it also hurts my hand as the sharp plastic lines press into my skin while I’m using the trimmer. The weight of the trimmer is also not well-balanced which causes me to feel back and arm fatigue after only a short usage period. The trimmer is extremely powerful, effective at edging and trimming, and relatively quiet compared to my gas trimmer. It’s also great not having to deal with dragging out a lengthy power cord. However, the string bumper doesn’t work. I have to manually pull the string out by hand which is very inconvenient. Also, the motor is pitched at an angle that causes rocks and debris to project outward beyond the guard at me and surrounding people/objects, a potentially dangerous design issue. I’m so happy with the incredible power of this trimmer that I’m willing to deal with the rock/debris problem. I’ve just been wearing blue jeans to protect my shins. Regarding the string, I’m hoping the problem will be corrected on my next replacement cartridge. The Eco mode option seems nice to have if you’re running out of power and you know you don’t need to go full-steam for your entire project. So far, I haven’t had a problem with running out of power, so I haven’t bothered switching to Eco mode. It’s easy to keep track of how much power is left by each pushing the button on each individual battery or pushing the collective button on the trimmer itself. Pros: Durable body Long battery life
Trims effectively Cons: Cheaply made handle Rocks/debris fly up to 20ft beyond the protective guard Overall, I would recommend the Nitro 40V Power Share Cordless String Trimmer to anyone seeking a cordless solution that will last a long time on one charge and effectively trim with minimal effort. My one bit of advice is to protect your shins from flying rocks because the pitch on the motor is set in such a way that debris will serve as projectiles.

powerful
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had been using an older Works String Trimmer because it worked well enough for my needs. I finally decided to upgrade to the Nitro 40 volt, and it sure is an upgrade. It is much more powerful and makes short work of all the trimming I need in my yard. I do not have any of the other attachments yet, but I can't wait to try them out. This is a really great trimmer, it is both powerful and easy to handle. It rivals the power of gas without the noise and fumes.

This tool is awesome
This is a very powerful tool. It works with the brush cutter attachment and cuts through tough brush very effortlessly. The weed / grass trimmer is better by far than others we have had.

Good cordless trimmer that is attachment-capable
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Worx Nitro 40V Power Share Cordless Attachment-Capable Driveshare 15" String Trimmer is a pretty solid cordless string trimmer. I was surprised to see that it has a carbon fiber shaft and uses 2 batteries. The box it comes in is not too big as it requires some assembly. The assembly instructions are in black and white line drawings and are not that easy to follow. I needed to refer to the assembled color picture on the box to see the handle orientation and location. It comes with a multi-tool to assemble, so you don't need any additional tools. It has a loop handle and also a padded grip on the shaft. I think the ergonomics are about the same as other string trimmers. I like that it is brushless, which gives it a longer runtime. It has the convenience of being cordless, which I really like, but is heavier as a result. Even without the 2 batteries, it's pretty hefty. I find that my old corded trimmer is lighter, but less convenient with needing an extension cord. What's nice about this is that it supports different attachments, which are sold separately. This lets me use the same basic tool and batteries, and only need to buy the end attachment to do things like edging and cutting hedges. For edging a lawn, some string trimmers end piece can be turned sideways, but this one requires holding the entire string trimmer at an angle, which makes it hard to hold, or buying an attachment. I also wish the trimmer was angled a little differently because at my height, it becomes too tilted when trimming low grasses. The trigger is pretty big and wide, which I appreciate because it doesn't hurt my fingers when using it. It has a variable speed, meaning it goes faster the more you pull the trigger. A downside is that it makes it hard to hold the trimmer and activate the trimmer at a low speed, because you kind of need to float your fingers in the air instead of gripping the trimmer handle completely. There is also an Eco mode button which seems to make it slower, but last longer. I feel like the Eco mode is good enough for most of my string trimming needs, so I like that it has this mode. Overall, it's a decent string trimmer if you're looking for one that is cordless, brushless, and attachment-capable.

powerful
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First, I like the trimmer. This is my first electric. Just got tired of mixing 2cyl fuel, the noise...hassle with starting it sometimes, etc. Basically...I'm getting lazy in my old age is what I'm saying. The trimmer works great. Just on my first day of use but I do like them both. Plenty of oomph to do basic trimming and clean up. The line feed is something you get used to. Self feeds by pulsing the trigger vs beating the head against the ground as you do in most gas trimmers. And yes...I beat this one on the ground a few times before going back and reading the instructions...but hey...I'm a guy...that's how we do things.
