Metal Isle of Lewis chess pieces. The chess pieces show the strong cultural and political connections between the kingdoms of the British Isles and Scandinavia in the Middle Ages. The King height is 3.5". Well weighted and the finished with a felt underlay.  The metallic Isle of Lewis is something to behold. They are approximately double the weight of the crushed marble versions. The metallic sets are still produced from resin but with the introduction of pewter and copper filings into the mix. Once the pieces are polished they take on the appearance of metallic pewter and copper.
