I rarely wear red, but I decided to be a more modern, 74 year old athletic gal. I'm 5'5" and 126 lbs and went for the size 8 (on sale) after reading the reviews. Size 8 feels good and I would rather have some give in the waist than tight. It isn't a true red but not a "bad" red/orange, more red than orange. I haven't washed yet.

Be prepared to take a couple of the same size into the dressing room, or if ordering online, to return them.
