Heather Alexander is the the author of many books for young readers. She lives in Los Angeles with her family and beagle puppy. She loves solving mysteries and doing art projects. When she was a kid, her favorite color was purple. Now it's blue. But sometimes it's yellow, too.

Laura Zarrin is an illustrator by day and a detective by night. She is often called upon to solve mysteries for her family. She's been known to find lost shoes and lost homework and to discover who ate the last chocolate chip cookie. She lives in Northern California with her husband, their two sons, and her assistant, Cody the Chihuahua.
