Violife Just Like Mexican-Style Shreds Vegan Cheese Alternative - 8oz

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried the Violife Foods, Mexican Style Shreds in return for my honest opinion. I decided to make a toasted cheese sandwich. I was surprised by how well the shreds melted. The sandwich turned out crispy on the outside with the shreds oozing out the sides and it looked tasty. It tasted close to cheese but had a slight aftertaste, though not a bad one, slightly oily maybe. I also tried it right out of the bag. It had a firmness to it as if it was stale and did not taste good this way. I think it is best used in a melted, hot form.

I am not dairy free but I enjoyed this cheese! The packaging is ok, need to make sure the opening part is easy to open when you tear it. But like the seal that keeps the cheese fresh in its bag.

It’s all clean ingredients, smells like cheese tastes like cheese, melts like dairy cheese. Can put it on almost anything but it’s excellent on tacos and it tastes great was perfectly seasoned. Store it in the fridge and pop it on anything. Stays fresh for a long time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love how tasty Violife Mexican Style Shreds is in our household, because it melts nicely on tacos which is what I made for the first time I used the product and really works as a great dairy-free cheese substitute, and since it’s 100% dairy-free and lactose-free it’s an excellent option for your lactose-intolerant boyfriend too lol!

It taste just like any other shredded cheese leaves your mouth feeling like you’ve just had creamy cheese. It comes in its own bag with a zip seal.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] You know for the longest time Veganism has gotten a pretty gnarly wrap for being bland, flavorless, and downright odd. I too was on the vegan food negativity train. However, after trying this cheese and being able to give it a fair comparison in an actual product I’d eat…. I was pleasantly surprised. The cheese itself looks and feels like cheese when you remove it from the bag and when it melts with the hot ingredients on the inside it’s really hard to tell it’s an alternative. After taking a full bite and really trying to isolate the vegan cheese taste it was impossible to distinguish it. Sure if I had a Mexican blend of cheese and this side by side it would be a little easier, but on its own this hit the mark. There was no odd aftertaste and the aroma wasn’t anything that set me off. Definitely a surprise and I’ll continue to find other ways to mix this into my rotation of meals.
