A: Hi Donna, There was a change in July 2022 to labeling laws on Gluten. As background, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (“FDA”) issued a final rule to establish new requirements governing “gluten-free” labeling. The new rule was established, in part, because FDA knows of no current scientifically valid analytical method effective in detecting and quantifying with precision the gluten protein content in fermented or hydrolyzed foods in terms of equivalent amounts of intact gluten proteins. Given the lack of options available for gluten-free testing to fully comply with the FDA’s requirements for gluten-free, and out of an abundance of caution, Utz has taken action to remove gluten-free claims from some product packages. Utz encourages people with celiac disease and those who wish to avoid gluten to consult with their healthcare providers with any questions they may have about their diet.

Cheddar balls we’re hard and stale. I prepared my sons valentine goodie bags for school and had a few left over. I opened a bag to try and was immediately disappointed when I realized they were hard,stale and no flavor. I already prepared all the bags and sealed them so a little too late to swap them out. I’m sure the kids will be throwing them away.

Doesn't have the number of bags it claims!
Says “30 treat bags” but there are only 25. Feel cheated but also extremely frustrating to have to go back to a store to find another box of Valentine’s treats since I am now 4 short for my daughter’s class. Now will have a ton extra of other Valentine’s I don’t need. So this package cost me the $5+, plus a second trip to a store plus the cost of a second set of Valentine’s. What an irritating experience.
