Petmate Top Entry Litter Box
EXTREMELY disappointed that they changed design of this litter box. Lid no longer attaches at perforations and must be removed each time of cleaning. Had same box for years with lid that attaches and love it, but this one makes no sense. Should have noted change on the Petmate website to warn us.

Thanks for your feedback. There were no changes in the design. The lid stays attached to the base. Please contact our Consumer Services Team at consumerservices@petmate.com. It may be the unit is faulty.

Tall sides
I purchased 2 of these because I needed something to keep one of my 4 cats from spraying over the edge. So far so good. But the litter pan is too narrow. My very large, 17 lb cat can not turn around to bury what he has done. He is at least 20 inches long and 15 inches wide is too narrow.

This product really, really helps cut down on the floor litter, which turns into foot litter, which turns into bed litter...you cat owners know what I mean. I’d say it’s about 90% better except for sometimes those uncooperative cats just jump out instead of standing on the top to wipe their paws. I’d give it five stars if it was just a bit wider and taller. My cats aren’t especially big (well one is) but it’s a little too narrow and too short for them to be comfortable. They don’t always want to go in the one spot where the hole is and that would be gross anyway. But altogether I’d recommend this product if you’re tired of tracking litter all over your house and looking at cat poo. Added bonus, now the dumb cat who just drops his turds and scratches the wall isn’t actually scratching my wall!

Vacuum saver
I recently adopted the messiest kitten ever, I think he legit picks up the litter and throws it out of the box. Not to mention my dog who loves to sneak "snacks". Anyways, this litter box has fixed it all. My dog can't access it, my kitten can't toss the litter out, and when he jumps out it is no longer tracking all over the carpet.

Cats love it
I am so happy with my purchase I 3 cats love them. After I got this cat litter box I never clean the floor that much. Before I used to clean most of times after they used a litter box.

Great Concept!
I have a cat that is very messy with his litter. So I wanted to try the top entry type litter box. This has cut way down on the amount of litter outside the litter box, but not all. So far, I am happy with it and he had no problems adjusting to it. My only suggestion is to offer a larger size for larger cats. My guy is almost 20 pounds of all muscle and there is barely enough room for him to turn around and he sticks the whole upper half of his body out of the whole while urinating.

Who designed this?
I recently bought 4 of these top entry litter boxes to replace well used Clever Cat boxes. I like the idea of the hinged lid but almost every time you open the hinged lid the lid pops out of the hinge. The most disappointing part of these litter boxes is the fact that someone designed a raised handle in the base of the litter boxes, luckily none of my cats have peed in that area, but I know when they do it will be extremely difficult to clean around this area. Why even but a handle in the bottom of the litter pan?!

So far so good!
My cat took to this litter box right away with no issues. The main reason I got this one is so the dog would stop getting in and eating the cat feces! She can't reach it now. I love that the products are made in the US responsibly which is one of my top concerns when shopping for anything these days.
