Perfect rack for my mountain bike, easy to remove
I’m really impressed with this heavy-duty bike rack. It feels super solid and stays perfectly stable even with heavier loads. The grips on top keep my pannier or other gear from sliding around, and I really appreciate that it protects the bike frame while carrying weight. One thing I like most is how easy it is to put on and take off. I have an Avento Rambla mountain bike and bike racks are not normally put on this kind of bike, but sometimes it is nice to have one to carry stuff on a pannier since this is my mountain bike but also my everything else bike. This rack fits great and basically turns my mountain bike into a versatile everyday bike. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a sturdy, easy-to-use rack that looks great too!

I did thousand of kilometers touring with it
I bought this rack for my Great Divide ride (I completed 2 sections up to Montana) I installed it in the front wheel with the suspension. It worked great, zero issue loaded with heavy load. Currently I use it to commute as a back rack, still working perfectly after 4 years. Yes, it takes time to mount but YouTube videos are helpfull.

A Rack for your Back
I already have 2 others, one on a bike packing bike another on my wife’s e-bike. This one sits on my sweet Canyon GrailON commuter. Every time I flip my Thule back on and start riding I think I am missing something. That something being my backpack that I was riding with. I now even bring my Raingear even if no rain in the forecast. Piece of mind and less weight on the bike… win win win

Built to Last a Lifetime
This is my second time reviewing this product — the first written shortly after misplacing one of the rubber bumpers between the rack and stays while in a frustrated frame of mind; incidentally, the missing piece just resurfaced following a month of hiding between the coils of my apartment’s radiator. — during the interim I had been using a DIY substitute part I crafted from an inner tube. Yes - the bumpers are prone to falling out when putting on and removing the rack and this is pretty annoying. But the fact is this rack is, overall, a fine product! Anyway, combined my two reviews average a rating of four stars and I would say that this is accurate. Would still be great if replacements for the bumper were available for online purchase but there are DIY workarounds such as using a comparably-shaped section of inner tube. That said, I’m very relieved to have found the bumper…

Wants to be perfect…
… but isn’t quite. This rack has plenty of very admirable qualities - solidly constructed, good assortment of parts/tools included, and exhaustively adjustable with a generous line of accessories available. Unfortunately, it is just where this theoretically-great product should be at its best that it falls ever-so short — the clamp-on mounting system. At issue: four uniquely-shaped rubber grips meant to prevent the rack from slipping down on the frame; these components are inserted into the rack’s hard plastic mounting braces but, lacking any mechanism of retention, they are extremely prone to falling out* (*except when under tension, as they are when the rack is installed). This makes installing, removing and storing the rack unnecessarily complicated. And, lest this complaint be taken as a mere quibble, consider that it is only a matter of time before one inevitably vanishes into oblivion, never to be found even after turning your entire apartment upside down twice-over. Furthermore, it appears this “winged” grip was introduced in an updated version of the tour rack, ostensibly to reduce interference with the strap; the pads used in the original are now located around the opposite side of the seat-stay/fork for extra traction; see accompanying images below. Note to Thule: this issue could be solved altogether by offering a replacement for this part online, as is the case with most of the parts for this product!

Used Once - Don't Buy
Doesn't hold, slips down and wears down on brand new bike tyres as well as the under side of the plastic rack itself. I had to stop constantly to try and reposition it. The small rubber parts barely hold in place once the rack is off, and do not come with anything to store them in, subsequently one of them fell off when I took the rack off and I was unable to find where it went. Will never use again. Please do not buy this it ruined my weekend for myself and for my friends.

Not Thule Quality
The good- Cool design and you are able to adjust to about any configuration. Relatively simple, but it mounts easily. The bad- The rack doesn't stay in place. Maybe because I'm using this on a road bike with smaller seat stays? I've had to use gorilla tape on my seat stay to create a bench for the rack attachment points to sit on to keep the rack from sliding down. I'm not even loading much into the pannier. Which is the other problem, twice the Thule Shield pannier went into my rear spokes brining me to an immediate stop. There's nothing to keep the bag from swinging into the spokes when you get a decent bump. Just not a great design.

New Bike Tour Rack
I have been using this new rack for several weeks and I must say I am definitely impressed. My new bike came without any front braze-ons so needing a front rack, I did not know what I was going to do.. The design is ingenious, Fits perfectly.I check it often before rides and it stays stable and secure. Thank you Thule.

Looks good and it works as well
Light weight and sleek. The previous rack I had was very wide so this is a nice change. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy the installation was. Now I have a complete kit with the two Thule saddle bags that I already had.

A Super Trifecta Solution For Dirt Bike Riders
This Thule solution to carry bags and baskets is a sure winner in my books. I have a Surron Light Bee X Dirt Bike which I plan to use to make deliveries by where I live. I will note that I did have to remove my front fender in order for this work but that doesn’t bother me as I have tried to make the bike look as little as possible as a Dirt Bike considering regulations by where I live. However if your looking for a solution for carrying bags with your dirt bike- than look no further as this is it. I’ll be honest I did my research and there’s not many choices that work with Dirt Bikes as the manufacturers don’t make or market them for Dirt Bike riders. I am grateful to Thule for making a solution that works hands down the best in carrying bags and packages.

Nightmare
Rack is a nightmare to take on and off. Lost straps because it’s hard to set up the correctly and no spare parts are available. I’d avoid unless this is your last and only solution.

Broke on first holiday
bought this for a cycling holiday. During the trip I had to buy elastic reinforcements because the thule tour rack slipped off the bars. Of course, I also tried to tighten the screws, but they were already sitting completely tight. When we got home from the trip, I was, to say the least, somewhat annoyed by this purchase. However, it all got worse when I wanted to disassemble the thule tour rack the clamping screw on the right side broke. At first disassembly !! Now I have a thule tour rack that can no longer be mounted on my bike. Terrible purchase. Can not be recommended!

Great for bike at rear position
I installed on a MTB Specialized Pitch Sport (hard trail). fully recommended in case of transport your stuffs. Think on improve it creating a third support from seat port to Thule rack, just thinking on physics. also adjustment in the frame I recommend perform a metal one. I do not recommend use it in from position on MTB, fork suspension limits the usage, and also I do not want my stuff shaking when in downhill and jumping :)

Not very good
Bought this to do some bike packing on mountain bikes in the Sawtooths. I needed a fairly universal way to mount my racks to my bikes since I switch the racks between multiple mountain bikes. Unfortunately these were completely outclassed by every other riders racks. This rack does not stay up in place on a front mtb fork no matter how tight it is cranked on. And it only installs on 1 of the 3 bikes I need to use it for because the shortest bracket arms are still too long. Just purchased topeak tetraracks and they are significantly better. This rack works alright on 2 of my 3 bikes as a rear rack. Just worthless as a front mtb rack.

Super easy to install, and it looks great too!
This is clutch! I also bought the Thule bike basket and now I am able to commute to work without having to wear a backpack. The rack did change the weight of the bike quite a bit, but now that I'm used to it, I love it.

Could be improved
Bought this a few weeks ago. It does what its supposed to do but isn't the best for the amount of money. The instruction packet is not helpful... I basically faked it till i made it with installation. Why the silicone inserts that protect your bike where the rack attaches aren't glued into place is beyond me. They repeatedly fall out when installing for the first time and if you take the rack off and put it back on. It makes putting the rack back on a pain. Its pairs nicely for compatible thule panier bag packs but not for anything else. The magnets from the panier packs that are supposed to attach to the rack are really hard to install as well.
