Q: Does this sunscreen sting when gets in eyes?

submitted by VisionMaker - 4 years ago
  • A: If sunscreen gets into your eyes, it’ll likely irritate them. But, our sunscreen is developed with the highest level of water resistance, so it won’t readily flush into your eyes.

submitted byTHINK Product Expert - 4 years ago
  • A: Yes, it absolutely does sting in our experience. But most sunscreens will do this. Have a wet wipe ready if your baby gets sweaty.

Q: Is this safe for babies under 6 months old?

submitted by Addie - 9 years ago
  • A: As far as I have been told with all 3 of my children that babies under 6 months are not supposed to wear sunscreen at all

submitted byIversen - 9 years ago
  • A: It's my understanding the reasons why they are market it for babies 6 months+ is because when they don't test on young babies and recommend younger babies have very limited exposure to direct sun/heat. That being said, I did you this on my 4 month old's legs and arms with a clear conscience (due to the safer ingredients) for the short time we were at the beach/pool after testing a small area for reaction. I kept as much of her covered as I could so we only used a small amount but had no problems. We like this brand & will stick with it as she gets older.

    Contains Lead

It's not perfect, tends to run in my eyes even if I'm not sweaty. However, just found out that it tests positive for very high amounts of lead. Super disappointed, to put it mildly. We'll be throwing it away and finding something else.

    Great sunscreen

So good! Yes it leaves a white cast on my child but I personally don’t mind it, the white cast helps me know if I’ve missed a spot and make sure I apply it well enough for the most effectiveness, this is a daily essential especially in the summer, this has helped prevent sunburns, it’s intended for babies but I also use this daily

Drying to your skin and impossible to get off

Incredibly drying and impossible to get off. I scrubbed and scrubbed in the shower and still a dry, white cast remains all over my body. Can’t imagine you’d want to scrub a baby’s skin so heavily to get it off. Would dry baby’s skin out too.

    New formulation

I’ve been using this sunscreen for years and loved it. Now with the new formulation my daughter got a really bad burning rash (not a sunburn). I used it on myself and didn’t have any issues. I am not looking forward to find a new sunscreen to use.

    The best!

I've used this for my daughter and family for the last two years since she was an infant. If you read the ingredients, it probably the cleanest sunscreen out there. It also doesn't have that offensive sunscreen smell like some other sunscreens. This works really well! My child has never got a sunburn while using it. Stands up well to swimming in the pool, intense rays at the beach, or perfect for just playing outside or at the park! I use it myself sometimes too!

    Wouldnt purchase again

Used this sunscreen on both myself and my two year old on a recent beach trip. thankfully it worked great for my two year old and didn’t cause her to burn but didn’t work for me. Used quite a bit on myself and reapplied often but my back, legs and chest still got burnt.

    Not for us.

Seemed to have good sun protection, but caused a rash to break out on my toddler and on my hands after applying.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience with our Think Baby sunscreen. It's essential to find a product that not only provides effective sun protection but also is gentle on sensitive skin, especially for little ones. Patch testing on a small area of skin before full application can also help identify any potential reactions. Skin reactions can vary from person to person, and it's possible that certain ingredients in the sunscreen may not agree with your toddler's or your skin. Our sunscreens undergo rigorous testing to ensure they're hypoallergenic. They've all been RIPT tested to assess the likelihood of allergic reactions and irritation to common ingredients. Your feedback is valuable to us, and we're committed to continuously improving our products.

    changed formula ruined

Very upset that they changed the formula and added a fragrance. This was the perfect sunscreen to use on my face and now after breaking out multiple times after starting this new bottle of it I have finally gotten a clue that this is the culprit. Garbage. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Thank you for your informative feedback! We’ve noted concerns over the newly added term “Natural Fragrance Oils” to our inactive ingredient list. This term is to describe the function of natural oils that are presented, which is to provide a naturally scented aroma —this is not a new addition to our formulas. For any additional questions about our ingredients, please refer to our FAQ as we continue to update its contents to include more information. https://thinksun.com/pages/faq

    Reformulated= not buying again

Disappointed that the company who bought out the think company, reformulated this sunscreen. It was one of two brands I would use for my children, but now won’t buy again. Sad because it was more convienent than the other brand, because I could pick this up in stores in a pinch.

I really wanted to like this, but I tried it several times on my daughter and she got burnt every time. On top of that, the price?! Will never buy again and threw the bottle away.

Your feedback is really appreciated. We’re so sorry you had this experience! To prevent sunburn, we recommend that you apply 2 teaspoons of sunscreen over all the face and more to cover areas of exposed skin, reapplying every 2 hours (especially after sweating, direct sun exposure, or swimming).

    Think Baby Sunscreen

This sunscreen gave my 7 month old a rash. It ranks #1 for EWG but I think they added fragrance to their new formulation. Extremely disappointed.

We appreciate your feedback and we understand where your concerns stem from. With our new packaging, we updated labeling to be more transparent and compliant for the international labeling conventions and EWG rating. Please be assured that the ingredients are the same reliable core ingredients with the effective benefits of broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection as they previously were but may come from a new source/vendor. ReTHINK this spf.

Purchased this last year and did not repurchase this year because I hated the odor. (Apparently people say this year it was reformulated but I think the original had a bad metallic odor). Moreso, it would NOT come off, even with scrubbing in the bath. My baby would smell like this for like 2 days and it was very drying. Switched to Blue Lizard this year and have had zero issues with odor or dry skin.
1 reply from Think Product Expert team - 2 years ago
Thanks for contacting us with your concerns! We’re sorry you’ve experienced this issue. Think physical (mineral zinc oxide) sunscreens are designed to resist sweat and water activity while nourishing the skin with EWG-rated safe ingredients. If you are reapplying every two hours (which we always recommend!) then the layering of the mineral sunscreen after re-application may perhaps cause an uneven texture on skin. We recommend our Shampoo + Bodywash to help gently remove chlorine and sunscreen from baby’s skin.
