Good
This was a good book but I lost interest a few times reading it so I’d put it down for a while. I really liked the way it was written but I had a hard time keeping up with who is who. Maybe that’s just a me problem though

I wouldn't try my hand at crime around these silver haired sleuths!
This book was an absolute delight! I immersion read this one and the audiobook narrator, Lesley Manville was excellent! The Thursday Murder Club is composed of 4 individuals that live in the Coopers Chase Retirement Village. Each character brings something different to the group: whether it be certain skill sets, notoriety, or exceptional intelligence - all with a large helping of humor. This bunch meets once a week to scour old police files (that they're not supposed to have) to see if they can solve the case. Then it happens - they get their very first murder case as a local developer is found bludgeoned to death in his home. Elizabeth, Joyce, Ibrahim and Ron are on the case and good luck to anyone who thinks they can deter them from getting involved. (Poor DCI Hudson!) I've often wondered about my golden years - would I be lonely because I never had kids? What if I outlive my husband, what then? This book has completely changed my perspective and erased those fears. This retirement village gave new life to its residents. There was always so much going on and people everywhere. If you wanted to be left alone, you just shut your front door. Want company? Leave your door open. Most importantly, this book showed me that even in your late 70s, early 80s, you can still form meaningful relationships and have fun! I loved so many of these characters and especially the different friendships that formed throughout the course of the story. I knew in the first 10 chapters that I'd be continuing this series, just on the characters and their humor alone. The mystery - or perhaps mysteries is the better word here - were so fun trying to solve. I really thought I had this one figured out, but Angela Lansbury, I am not. LOL! I loved the description and atmosphere of Coopers Chase - I found myself wishing I could sit on Bernard's bench with him and especially the Jigsaw Room on Thursdays! I look forward to seeing what these silver haired sleuths get up to next!
