Q: Are you certified organic?

submitted by kermit - 5 months ago
  • A: Yes! Happy Egg Organic Eggs are certified USDA Organic and are laid by Happy Hens who forage and play on 8+ acres of outdoor pastures every day.

Q: How long do these eggs stay fresh & edible refridgerated?

submitted by Texas Gma - 1 year ago
  • A: Hi! The expiration date should be on the right-hand side of the carton. If you are still not able to find it, we should mention eggs can be refrigerated for three to five weeks from the day they are first placed in the refrigerator, per the USDA. Store your Happy Eggs in your fridge at 40°F or lower to keep them fresh. If you still feel worried that the eggs may not be fresh, try the egg float test! Put your Happy Egg in a bowl of cold water. If the egg sinks to the bottom, it is still fresh!

Q: How many square feet per hen?

submitted by Megan - 1 year ago
  • A: Hi! Our hens have 21.8 sq feet of outdoor space per bird.

Q: Is there any SOY in the feed or graze for the hens?

submitted by Angey - 1 year ago
  • A: We feed our hens a specially formulated diet of whole grains -- including corn and soy, mixed with vitamins and minerals, to provide the best nutrition for healthy hens and great eggs. Because the hens have the ability to go outdoors, their daily feed is supplemented by a range-foraged diet, including grass and bugs. The hen’s feed is free of added meat, bone meal or hormones. In addition, Happy Egg hens producing organic eggs are fed a 100% organic, non-GMO diet.

Q: Are these 100% pasture chickens?

submitted by RhondaS - 1 year ago
  • A: Hi Rhonda, our hens are raised on small family farms and are given access to roam freely on over 8 acres of range (this equates to about 21.8 sq/ft per bird)!

Q: Do the chickens eat a supplemental feed containing corn or soy?

Q: Is your brand pasteurized?

submitted by Dwn - 1 year ago
  • A: Hey! No, our eggs aren’t pasteurized but we do have a process where the eggs are rapidly heated (but not up to 100 degrees Celsius as pasteurization requires) and are held at a minimum required temperature for a specified time to destroy bacteria.

Q: Where are they from...where is the chicken farm...

submitted by sjmadrone - 3 years ago
  • A: Thanks for your question! Our Happy Egg farms are located primarily in the Ozark woodlands of Arkansas and Missouri. This region has gently rolling wooded hills for the hens, and a mild climate. This allows the hens to go outside year-round, not just in the summer months.

    Why such thin shells?

I purchased my first Heritage Happy Hens eggs last week at Safeway. The yolks are indeed orange and the eggs are tasty, but worried as to why the shells are so incredibly thin? Makes for extremely delicate handling and very difficult cracking for separating, etc. Are the hens getting sufficient calcium, or are their other reasons?

    Antibiotic-free

No antibiotics given to these chickens, so the drugs don't pass along to consumer. Antibiotic-free eggs are hard to find.

    Just like my hens laid

They really are happy eggs! I smiled when I opened the box to the beautiful colorful eggs. And the yokes! My goodness they are so rich just like my hens laid. You’re doing something right! Thank you!

Happy Co Eggs is selling Medium sized eggs as Large eggs

Except for 3 eggs, every egg in the cartons I bought were MEDIUM, not large as advertised. The eggs looked so small, I weighed them, and the vast majority weighed under 55 g. In the USA and Canada a large egg is supposed to be 56 g. I’m paying a premium price for these eggs, and also the amount of egg that a recipe calls is crucial in baking, Happy Co Eggs you are ripping off your customers, and Target should be aware. I have been buying this brand for over 5 years and am very disappointed.

    Yolk is not orange anymore

I love this egg and I always purchase this brand because of the rich orange yolk but the recent two batches I purchased had regular yellow yolk. I really hope the quality isn’t decreasing because we really love this egg!!

    Black 'yolk"

I have been using Organic Range Happy Eggs for a while. They have been great. Until---I cracked an egg yesterday that was extremely thin running all over the counter then when the "yoke" came out it was runny and black! What was wrong with it? Looking at it literally made me feel sick and the mess was difficult to clean up. I threw away the carton, washed and sanitized the counter and floor.

    High quality eggs

I bought my first dozen a few weeks back and purchased another dozen today. The yolks are almost orange and remind me of the eggs our chickens used to lay growing up. Yolks don't break when you fry them. They make great egg salad. Have also used them in two pumpkin pies. Target's price is lower than the specialty grocery I go to that also sells them
