About the Author

Bianca Stam Grosse, a former kindergarten teacher and current actress and restauranteur, was born to an Italian father and a Chinese mother in Chicago, IL. Having spent her entire childhood in language schools, Bianca advocates for inspiring a newer generation of multilingual children. She speaks 5 languages herself: Cantonese, Mandarin, Taiwanese, Italian, and English. Now a new mother, Bianca has already implemented multilingualism into her child's life. She discovered Bitty Bao with her niece and fell in love with the books, the toys, and the spirit. It aligned perfectly with her ethos and was exactly what she wanted for her daughter, Eulalia. Thus, The Adventures of Siu Mai and Yu Dan was born.

Josephine Wu-Diokno (Jo Wu) is a creative through and through. Whether she's designing engaging lesson plans as a math and science teacher, making art with her two young boys, or running her small illustration business after everyone's fast asleep, Jo constantly craves opportunities for creative expression. She loves how all forms of art can connect people across cultures, lifestyles, and generations. As a Chinese American who grew up in San Gabriel Valley, she treasures her diverse SoCal roots and dedicates herself to giving back to her community. Jo hopes that her whimsical works will bring joy to others and inspire her own children and students to pursue their dreams.
