Swanson Aquamin Sea Minerals from red algae for mineral support (60 vegetarian capsules)

I like Swanson's Red Mineral Algae because the minerals have already been made bioavailable, whereas minerals from rock are not as easily absorbed and used by the body. Good source of calcium, magnesium, and other minerals.

I am so relieved to have found this supplement. After slightly less than a year of taking this, I have improved all bone density T scores. I will tell everyone I know who has osteopenia or full blown osteoporosis (as I do). I will hope for more (continued) solid improvement when I have a bone scan in another year. I'm sure my doctor will think this is a fluke...but I do not. I am an active person and cannot be in fear of a fracture. If you need to improve your T score, please get this and try it!

If you really want the terrific benefits of both Red Algae and Sea Minerals per se, then, this is a product I can absolutely recommend.

The capsules are too big, sadly. I thought they were just seaweed calcium, but they are a combination of that and solids from the sea that your body can't absorb. Very disappointed.

They are working well and I will be ordering more.

It's overall valuable as a calcium supplement, but the inclusion of fructooligosacchatide (FOS) isn't a great choice, given that some people can't tolerate it and it isn't necessary for the other ingredients to work well. Personally, I was hoping that such a small amount (5 mg per capsule) wouldn't hurt, but even that caused me negative effects - gas and rumbling all day long. I tried removing the supplement, and the side effects stopped immediately, only to return when I went back on it again a few days later. So I know I'm not confusing these side effects with those of another substance. I also tried another brand containing Aquamin that didn't include FOS, and I didn't get any side effects with it. So I know the Aquamin itself isn't causing the problem, which is a relief because other forms of calcium do cause me gastrointestinal issues. I've suggested to Swanson that they remove all FOS from this supplement. There's no need to limit who can use it with such an unnecessary additional ingredient.

I alternate my mineral capsules and Aquamin Sea Minerals every week, hopefully something may be helpful to maintain my bone density and my good teeth. I've used this product for over 4 years now, I am having good results (also reducing sugar and starchy food from my diet) to reach the full benefit of minerals.

I continue to order this cause I feel better when I take it. I don't have a better way to describe it - I just feel better. AND Aquamin is the best value for the money. 2 EXCELLENT reasons to get this.

I mix these in my smoothie to get more calcium. It's an easy way to get calcium from a plant source.

The very best source of organic calcium that I've been able to find . . not to mention the host of other great natural beneficial minerals it contains from the sea.

It is good to find a mineral that is easy to take and does the job! And the price is right!

I love Algae, Chlorella and Spirulina to begin with, but to get a good dose of sea minerals like Calcium with it is a bonus. I will continue to buy this when I can. Try to get it when it's on sale or BOGO since it is a little pricey.

Most of the calcium supplements are not plant based such as calcium carbonate or citrate. I feel that a plant based supplement would be better absorbed where needed than the others. I'm only my second bottle so too soon to tell. Will know more after my next bone density test.

Because I have been deficient in minerals my whole adult life, I find the 'Aquamin Sea Minerals' make me feel much better and alive. Thanks Swanson for creating such a great product for everyone but especially for older women. You are the BEST!!

I have read the vegetable calcium is the most effective form of calcium you can take. It has a natural source of other minerals that help with calcium absorption.
