About the Book
"After crash-landing on Earth, Kara Zor-El of Krypton awakens with no knowledge of where she is or how she came to be there. Surrounded by hostile strangers speaking in an alien language, Kara is utterly lost and cut off from everyone she's ever known. Or is she? A man wearing her family's insignia appears, impossibly claiming to be her infant cousin Kal-El: the very baby she'd held in her arms just a few days ago. Facing threats from everything from the Black Banshee, Kryptonian clones, [and] an Irish punk rocker named Siobhan who can mysteriously speak Kryptonian, to H'el, a strange Kryptonian traveler who claims he can save Krypton from destruction and quickly wins Kara's trust--and perhaps even her heart. Can the Girl of Steel survive her new home of Earth?"--
Book Synopsis
The Last Daughter of Krypton is ushered into a new era as part of DC's initiative "The New 52"
Crashing to earth on an escape pod through turbulence and chaos is the last daughter of Krypton. Unlike her cousin who landed on warm Kansas City amongst kindly farmers, this Supergirl first lands on a frozen tundra and met by immediate threats to her life. She can't understand how her powers are activated by the yellow sun and to the common person she might pose a threat to the world. Can her cousin, the only other living Kryptonian, Superman, help her and become crime-fighting partners?
