I love my chipper. Everything can go in the mulch pile or the fireplace now. It does get jammed sometimes but that’s usually when I am pushing it. Mines chewed up an entire birch tree, a black walnut, some large lilacs and much more over 3 years and it keeps on going. One of the best buy’s I’ve ever made.

The chips are not as clean as I would have liked. It is most definitely not for leaves, unless you have very few. The imput is simply too small and you end up feeding a handfull at a time. Once I accepted that, I am enjoying the chipper for smaller branches from the trees at the top of my ravine property. It is small, but do wear protective gear, especially if you are feeding a longer stick or branch as they can whip around and even eject. I don't use the collection bag as when I use the chipper I do quite a bit of work and it fills too quickly for me.

I love love love this product for chopping bamboo. It does absolutely everything I need it to do. HOWEVER, the counterplate is a consumable piece designed to be worn out, but you can't find it anywhere, and haven't been able to for years. Why they still sell this product without selling the consumable part is beyond me. That's like selling a printer but not having ink cartridges.

I'd been buying mulch for our front yard tree, and always end up with a big pile of branches after clearing our yard. Some of it, I can use for our fireplace, but the rest would end up in a pile behind the tall porch bushes. I finally got around to getting the sun joe mulcher and I was surprised at the fact that that growing pile was completely mulched in one shot. I was expecting it to at least get hot, if not overheat, but I ended up filling the mulch bag almost to the top without stopping. The pile is gone, and the tree's got free mulch now (plus no worries about introducing bugs or who knows what through store bought mulch to my property). I've attached some pictures for scale.

This machine is THE best for mulching dead bamboo.... like this thing seems to be uniquely made for the task!!! Can do live bamboo too, but you have to whack the discharge shoot every few minutes to release the mulch that gets stuck up in it. BUT, that mulch that then gets released is the finest, most processed and smallest mulch the machine produces. I have been using it NON-STOP, lending out to friend who have been impressed with its durability and reliability..... it just keeps mulching!!!!

Works as intended.. cuts fast.. very powerful.. cut down 9 small trees, most of the branches got chipped.. would definitely recommend this chipper..

This replaced a cheap electric chipper and is SO much better built. They obviously didn't cheap out on the components. They provide tools (OK, crappy tools) for both assembly And service/maintenance. It is not silent but it Is Much Quieter than the cheap chippers (similar to a table saw). Even the collection bag is higher quality. The main "wear" component is easily replaceable, and inexpensive (and there are even after-market versions!). And, no joke, it has hub caps and cup holders (though the cup holders are probably there As a joke).

One of the best purchases I’ve made in years- way better than expected. I put this chipper through the works and it handled everything’ thrown at it. I have been trimming and/or cutting down trees and limbs and had a mountain in my backyard. I was trying to determine how to handle the cleanup. Too big for garbage, too expensive and time-consuming to bring to a waste disposal facility. Most of the waste was from an incredibly messy weeping bottlebrush tree with limbs less than 1”. Some was from a few bougainvillea bushes with nasty thorns. Within a few hours, all waste was condensed to a rather small pile of chips. I’m glad I bought this model as opposed to the cheaper models. This unit ripped 1.5” limbs with branches, small leaves, thorns and seed pods attached…no problem.

The SunJoe staff suggested the CJ603E as a good chipper to reduce my corn stalks and other soft and or damp materials. It performed well when I trimmed a pile of hedge branches and leaves. It took a while to chew up all the short items I had cut with my pole trimmer due to the small opening but it did get the job done and with no clogs.

After looking at what was on the market, I decided to go with the CJ603E. I have to say I'm impressed. Here in the Northeast we have plenty of rock maple, oak, and pine that's constantly shedding branches. Add the branches that need to be pruned, and it adds up quickly. Assembly was easy, with only the two legs and the axle to be installed. It is pretty stable and easy to move. It was up and running in 10 minutes. I removed the cover plate and looked over the cutting mechanism. The "star wheel" cutter looks to be forged, and it is keyed to the gear box output shaft with a slide fit, so replacement or sharpening looks to be pretty easy. The aluminum counter plate has a steel hinge pin and looks good and beefy. I buttoned it back up and started clearing the brush pile. Understanding that the extension cord wire gauge was critical, I purchased a 12 AWG, 50 ft. cord and fired it up. The stuff I was cutting included all of the woods mentioned above and more. Most of it was dry, but some fresh cut maple branches were in the mix. It cut almost everything I fed into it. I gave it the acid test and fed a 1.5" fresh cut maple branch in. It ate most of it but finally stalled out, and I had to back the remainder out and toss it aside. It handled smaller fresh cut branches easily. Dry branches up to the opening size bogged it gown, but it ate them all. If the counter plate is set right it even cut very small twigs and dry wild grape vine. The output did clog sometimes when the odd leafy branch was fed through it, but it was easy to pull it down and into the bucket. It is not a leaf shredder, but for chopping up brush it does the job. It does tend to cut branches into 3/4" to 1 " long split chunks that will be used to mulch the flower beds. It's not a shredded mulch, but it looks ok, and it'll keep the beds looking clean. Having seen some videos where the machine bogged down on even small branches, my guess was that they used undersized extension cords. A properly sized extension cord is a must if you want to get the best performance. Last but not least, this isn't a commercial chipper, but it can cut up brush at a decent clip with no issues. Well worth the cost, and a decently powerful, trouble free machine.

I own this Shredder for 3 years and only repair I did to it was to sharpen the cutter wheel. It does what it advertised. I strongly recommend this product to anyone for this price. I don't hasitate to buy another one if I needed to.

The CJ603E is a very effective machine and easy to use. Its light weight makes it easy to move. I have owned many woodchopper but find this product superior to all of the others.

I’ve been using the chipper to clean up branches in the yard. I’ve used it continuously for one to two hours each time. Being a guy, I wanted to see if I could load it up with too much. You can. But, if used within its limits, it will go and go and go! I am very happy with it so far and can recommend this chipper for yard work.

The woodchipper is super quiet when it runs and is able to chomp through the garden waste material at an impressive rate! I've also been happily surprised at the diameter of the branches it will get through! I haven't had to use the reverse button once yet :D This machine is a great value for any gardener!

I like using this product to dismantle small branches. However that's all it does. It cannot handle bigger than 1/4 inch size branches. I was hoping for a product upgrade to allow bigger objects.

The little chipper that could. We have over 40 hours of use with this chipper and NO issues. Still the original cutting blade. We defiantly push this chipper to the limit and it has not disappointed. I constantly run 1 1/2"+ branches through this chipper.

Performs as advertised. Low noise, low vibration. I've 'chipped' ten heaping wheel barrow loads of fallen twigs and small branches of ash and sycamore. We've had a lot of wind this spring! No jams, no issues. New footpaths!

I've worked with chippers small and large on job sites, and I knew this would be significantly different. It's not just a half step or so down from a gas engine powered chipper. That said, it performed great. The drier the better, and some plants were very problematic, like holly. Scotch broom was hit and miss. It turned a rather large pile of yard waste (mostly holly and scotch broom) into a full yard waste bin. At the rate we'd been filling the bin, without this chipper, it would be 10-12 more bin loads (and 20-24 weeks) before the pile was gone. The pile is now gone. Starting on the next pile. The only complaint I have is the ejection slot seems to get stuffed and jam up quite a bit. I'm watching it, and shutting off the chipper, when I need to clear it.
