Compact and rugged.
I use a laptop for work and have a two monitor display plugged into the system's dock. I love it. But when i go home, i need something to replicate that, and this hub is just the thing. I can quickly take over my home PC's displays by plugging my laptop into this hub. Great for those work from home days. I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review.

Only uses one port on PC / laptop / etc.!
I had a laptop with a docking station and only one mini displayport input but I wanted three (the maximum my video card supported) so I decided to give the MSTMDP124DP I test run. It really is PLUG AND PLAY! Being digital (displayport) the display is fantastic and the MSTMDP124DP has a small footprint. I would recommend the MSTMDP124DP for a multi display environment. * I received this product for free in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

Solid Construction - Good Quality
We’re using this on an older Windows 7 laptop that has a mini-display port to broadcast its screen with live data/information to 4 coworkers sitting in an open office. It’s working great so far. It’s a solid metal construction. If you’re tired of the typical VGA hubs and want something a bit better quality and picture than you can’t go wrong with display port. I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review.

Read specs, know what you want, be impressed
This is my 3rd attempt at buying a DisplayPort that I really liked. I've had nothing but good experiences with StartTech but was enticed by a promotion to get something 'cheaper' the first time and recieved a bad recommendation the second time. I came across this and figured It'd be impresive but was quite jaded. I can't say this loudly enough, it will completely affect your experience. Understand what you are trying to solve for, the technology you have and what you're willing to buy if youre missing it. Assuming you follow those guidelines and this model looks good. BUY IT. I've been burned as I said before and I won't bring up the others, but both were pricier except that one was a promotional item so the price was technically less. Let me walk you through the whole process. It showed up in the mail. I wasn't sure what it was. I opened it. It took about 20 seconds to unpackage. I pulled out my existing disaster and replaced it with this in about another 2 minutes just b/c I was being extra careful. I had to take a call and came back. I was actually infuriated at first b/c I thought I got burned again. FAR FROM IT. It worked so well, it took such little effort I was in shock. If I had to say something bad about it, I'd say I wasn't able to get it to work on my MACS but it works on all of my windows machines. Not only that, it works phenomenally (and I feel like I'm being uncharitable by saying it's "Phenomenal". It's small, light, unobtrusive, remarkably simple to set up (I'll put it this way, I think I could give my grandmother one without any fear of her calling asking me how to get it to work). The documentation in the box itself isn't all that substantial but I'd argue that's a feature not a bug b/c you don't need it. If you do the website offers all you need. Just buy the thing and never worry about it again. Like I said, I'd have to try to find something to dislike and I'm sorry, but I'm too impressed with it to have any desire to engage in such a thing

Hello Lou, Thanks for sharing this with us. What model Surface Pro do you have? The Surface Pro 2, 3, and 4 all have MST functionality. The original Pro does not. Did the MST hub work to enable any external displays or nothing at all? MST supported Surface Pro devices are limited to a maximum of 3 displays (including the internal display). Therefore, there will be a limitation when using with this MST hub. Please get in touch with us directly should you have any further questions.
