  • A: Yes, it's made with magnesium chloride and calcium magnesium acetate, which is less likely to cause irritation to skin/paws than sodium chloride, the ingredient most often used in ice melts. While less irritating than conventional ice melt products, care should be taken to ensure it is not ingested and it's always a good idea to wipe your pets paws to be extra safe.

  • A: Salt, along with the freeze and thaw cycle, can damage concrete, asphalt/flagstone. To minimize surface damage, use only enough Ice Melt to loosen snow or ice, and then promptly remove slush and ice from concrete surfaces. This product is to be used at the consumer’s risk of loss from damage to surfaces.

    Poorly packed!

    Great item! Convenient size! Works as expected. But, just like the other reviews state, shipping is terrible! Target, please place tape over the opening, so that the salt isn't spilled out. Very messy & took about 5 minutes to clean up.

    Issue with the shipping package

    This came with all 3 jugs in over box. The box was apart all the way across the bottom and at part of the top. One of the jugs was dented so bad the top was nearly off and the salt was coming out. The lid won't fit on it now. And another jug the lid was also off. I'm not sure why they weren't sealed and then have the lid on. Other than that, I'm sure the salt is fine.

    Poor packaging

    The contents were spilled in the box. Target packers made no effort to bag and zip tie it or tape the spout shut. I had 2 others that never made it this year as they were damaged. Target does a poor job packing.. They lose a lot of revenue this way and create a lot of landfill. I was unable to find this item locally.
