Snow Joe Shovelution Snow Shovel with 18" Shovel Blade and Handle, SJ-SHLV02

We live in NW PA and have had over two feet of snow this week alone (and it's still coming down). In short, I use my 18" SJ shovel - A LOT! On the plus side, it has held-up well and does reduce strain by providing various shoveling options/angles. I like it A LOT! The bad news? Today, the spring assist handle rusted through and broke off. The date on the label says 2016. So, yes...it's "old" and has had a good run. Still, it seems like a design flaw to construct such an essential part out of metal for use shoveling what is basically frozen water. Having to replace the whole shovel because there is no replacement part seems "unfair."

Great shovel! Arrived well-packaged with all parts included. Easy to assemble in just a few minutes, and the manual was clear and helpful. The spring-assisted handle really makes a difference — much less strain on my back and easy to lift heavy snow. Lightweight, sturdy, and works exactly as described. Highly recommend!

This was our favorite shovel until we had back to back snow storms and after shoveling less than 10 times with it since we bought it the shovel broke. We came to buy a replacement for the handle and you don’t sell one. That is disheartening when you consider snow shovels usually last seasons not days.

Late 40’s and this is the best shovel I’ve ever owned. Using it is so easy on the back and arms, it takes all of the pressure off your body to just fling the snow away. I came inside after the 1st time I used it and told my wife I wanted to go shovel the neighbors driveways for extra cash it was so easy.

Just got to use mine today. I'm 71 years old and traditional shovels took there toll on my back.. you don't have to bend over as much with this shovel. Still got to do the work, but I appreciate all the help I can get.

Mine broke in less than a year. Even with pictures, proof of purchase. They did not replace it! I loved the shovel. I'm a Phsical Therapist and recommended this shovel to many clients and neighbors. So disappointed with Snow Joe.

GREAT FOR THE BACK. BOUGHT 2 SHOVALS. 1st ONE BROKE AT SPRING JOINT AND BLADE PROTECTOR FELL OFF. 2nd SHOVAL UPGRADED TO PLASTIC BLADE ,WITCH CRACKED DOWN THE MIDDLE.

Missing part, the aluminum strip was miss and can't complete the assembly of the shovel, without that it will deteriorate fast.

Used my foot to help it cut thru some plowed chunks and it cracked. Now only good for light duty until it breaks completely.

I'm 70 years old, lived thru New England snow storms most of my life. Used many different snow shovels. Purchased this Snow Joe SJ-SHLV01 Shovelution Strain-Reducing Snow Shovel and was amazed how much easier it was to shovel snow. The concept of the second shovel handle made a huge difference. Watch the video on it being used and you'll want one. . . . I highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed.

I previously owned the same shovel but without the metal strip. The metal strip scrapes and on the floor and makes a screeching noise. I only wished this metal strip was not added!

I have had my snow joe strain reducing shovel for several years now love love it no rusting or hardware problems use it every year here in Michigan UPPER NORTH EAST, THIS IS AS DESCRIBED EASY TO USE AND BACK SAVING , as compaired to regular snow shovels

I have a total reverse shoulder replacement, so the lifting I do is restricted. This shovel allows me to use my good arm to lift and my weaker arm to push. This shovel makes shoveling possible.

LIKE THE WAY IT SHOVELS - ONLY ISSUE I HAVE IS THAT THE SNOW SHOVEL ATTATCHMENT { BLADE } GETS WORN OUT - THE METAL PIECE GOES FIRST AND THE THE PLASTIC STARTS GETTING EATEN AWAY - AND YOU DO NOT SELL REPLACEMENTS - I DO NOT NEED A WHOLE SHOVEL - JUST THE ATTATCHMENT { BLADE } THE ATTACHMENT IS HELD ON W/ A RIVET - THIS COULD EASILY BE CHANGED TO A SCREW OR BOLT THINK ABOUT SELLING THE ATTACHMENT - AM SURE YOU COULD SELL QUITE A FEW

Love this shovel...so much easier to lift the snow with the handle and I am a 73 year old woman in northern Wisconsin!

Shovel works great until the spring handle fatigues and breaks off a year or two (a dozen snowy days) later, with no replacement spring-strap included nor available on the website.

My brother sent me one for Christmas 7-8 years ago. It's still going strong and we have an 8-14" storm coming in tonight. I am now 70 and still shoveling

Absolutely love the Snow Joe shovel. I have the 18" shovel and it works very well for my needs. I am 5'8" tall and the two handles are positioned very well for me to use. No strain at all and I was able to shovel 4" of new snow from my three car driveway and the sidewalk in front of my house in the same time that my neighbor was able to shovel just their front sidewalk. So, it easy to use and faster than using other snow shovels. I think I was able to maintain a faster rate due to the reduced stress on my body. Not bad, since I am 71 years old and my neighbor is still in their 40's. I do have a suggestion for improvement of the aluminum blade on the shovel. The blade is just pressed onto the plastic shovel without any adhesive holding the aluminum blade in place. I noticed that this was likely a weak spot in the shovel design. So, I carefully removed the aluminum blade, squeezed a bead of silicone sealant into the entire slot in the aluminum blade, and then reinstalled the blade onto the plastic part of the shovel. If you do this step, remember to let the shovel set for about 24 hours before you use it to let the silicone cure.

I have used this shovel for at least 2 snow years now and absolutely love it! With 2 handles I do not feel the pull on my bad back, easy to lift and throw. My only hovel!
