Smashbox Step-By-Step Contour Palette is a convenient contouring palette for every day. The powders are soft, easily shaded and give a natural matte finish. The contour and bronzer are pigmented, but they look natural if you apply a little. The durability is good. Of the minuses - the highlighter is quite weak and matte, and with a dense application of powder it can look a little heavy. In general, it is a good option for beginners and everyday makeup.

This is such a good contour pallete
I received this palette for free to review. But it really is amazing it blends so easily into your skin. And helps create a really natural skin like finish that just accentuates your cheekbones and features. I can't recommend it enough.

Every time I find a bronzer I like, it is discontinued or came in a multiple and doesn't exist as a single. This is an easy combo to apply and blend. I prefer a bronzer with a bit of sparkle but again this blends nicely. Blush colors good for most.

Very Disappointing
Very little pigment and all of the shades are chalky. I'm a light, warm skin tone and the second shade barely showed up on my skin. This could be decent for a fair complexion but for the price, the quality is not worth it. Also the packaging is terrible! The lid does not stay up/back when you're trying to use it, it's very annoying to keep having to open it every few seconds. Save your money!

I love this palette. I use "back to Cali" and I have medium toned skin with yellow undertones. It is perfect! The brown is great for contouring, I use the light pink in the winter and the dark pink in the summer on my cheekbones, and the shimmer at the top of my cheekbones for extra glow. The amount of product in this palette makes it worth the money in my opinion. Would definitely buy again!

Nice shades but highlighter crumbles easily
I was so excited to travel with this slim multi-puspose quad. Ordered it online during and upon arrival the highlighter pan was crumbling and what was left fell out of the pan. Perhaps that was due to delivery/mail packaging. However, not much pigment transferred from the beautiful neutral bronzer to a brush or even finger swatch for it to be useful on my skin. It almost felt hard-panned before even using it. Thankfully bought it on sale but otherwise would not purchase full price.

Amazing everyday product
I bought the Back to Cali palette and it's my perfect everyday work palette. It's so easy, I do my makeup in 15min and it looks so beautiful and natural. I have light neutral skin and it gives me a healthy natural flush. It comes with an intert on how to apply the 4 products in the palette which I always follow. I love it! It does have a bit of an odd smell which isn't my favorite but the payoff is so good I can ignore it.

For 'mature' skin (ahem)
I am 60+ and am having problems with makeup settling in fine lines, so rarely use foundation. I thought I'd try foundation again one more time for an event. I didn't like the result and was contemplating washing it off, when I remembered my photo finish setting spray!! Spritzed it on and goodbye fine lines and dry appearance. It leaves a nice, smooth, natural look. Gotta go, I'm late for my event!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I thought this was a really pretty palette! The colors are pigmented just right! They blend like butter and the texture of the powder is super soft. Cute and slim packaging with great mirror. Easy to travel with!
