Singer S1478 Serger

The fact that you can do so many different stitch combinations and it sews the seams all at once makes it so much easier. She’s been making all kinds of holiday decor since she got it. It comes with everything you need to use it right out it the box. Really great and ingenious design.

You won't be disappointed. I can spend hours learning how to smoothly operate it. It has so many different settings for whatever kind of projects your doing!

I watched a couple of how- to videos and followed them step by step. It really wasn't all that hard once I got started. It sews smoothly and finishes the edges as you go. This can be a real time saver! I would have liked to have a link to some beginning online classes, this would be very helpful for those of us who have never used a machine like this. Great machine, very pleased!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have never used a serger before, just your standard plain sewing machine. This unit is so lightweight and compact compared to my old machine. I needed to print the manual to make sure I set it up correctly (don’t print the whole document like I did- it’s in 3 different languages). Fairly simple to set up. Has lots of neat features that one machine couldn’t do for me in the past so I’m pleased with that. Will definitely take me some time to get use to it but great machine to learn and play on for starters like me.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a super easy machine to do just about anything you like in regards to sewing. Super easy to set up and get started. It does not take up to much space but do not let that fool you it is powerful for its size. You can use anywhere from 2 to 4 threads at one time. You can sew or stitch on something as small as a napkin or go just about as big as you like such as a blanket. Want to stitch or sew designs this will do it with ease. Its so easy to learn that even someone that is just starting out should not have to much problems figuring it out. Want to do a seam and seam finish at the same time? Now you can and it also trims off the excess. There is so this can do. It makes it simple and easy to create what you want to create. Have an idea in your mind? This will help to bring it to life.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first serger and I must say I absolutely love this! It is easy to use and learn. It makes your sewing projects look complete. Works amazingly! I did have some trouble trying to thread the bottom needles as to fat fingers but once you get the hang of it it’s smooth sailing from there.

And the little I have done I feel that it has turned out well, the machine cooks perfectly and thanks to this machine I am enjoying a new experience and this makes me happy, I look like a girl with a toy new, lol

I was a bit overwhelmed when I first opened the box and seen this singer overlook and that I needed to thread 4 strings through it. Needless to say in the box is a quick guide to threading that is extremely helpful, plus you can go online to the many videos to help you. Believe me if I can do it anyone can. This machine has so many great features. It's portable and light weight. I highly recommend this product

It inspires me to be very create and I want to sew more!! It gives me the option of four thread stitching, and adjustable cutting width and stitching length and width. It’s also designed to work with most fabric types. Very easy for beginners to use. Love it!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Singer S14-78 machine is great for sewing seams, cuffs and hems. For those who are doing a lot of sewing this cuts your time and makes it so much easier for doing your seams and edges. It has a option for cutting the excess seam and it has a clean seam finish. The threading looks complicated at first glance, but it comes with a manual that shows what to do and the inside panel on the machine has a diagram that walks you through the color coded threading. There are several stitch types available. This set comes with extra needles, screwdriver, tweezer. I am so happy to have this because it makes my sewing so much easier. Overall, I would highly recommend this model for those who tend to have a lot of sewing projects.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am not very good at making things, but I love this product it makes it so easy to fix little holes in items or just to simple new sew things. It’s very easy to switch things out, or put new things in. It’s just very easy to operate.

As a first time sewing machine owner it was a bit intimidating at first. The online manual is very thorough and helped me a lot. I definitely recommend this to a seasoned seamstress but to a novice as myself patience learning this machine for the first time is highly suggested.

This is my first time using a serger so it took me some time to get it threaded correctly and set up. However once I got it set up properly it is easy to use and I love the professional looking finished seams.

It has a very large, easy to identify presser foot lift, easy to put in and remove needles, knife, and stitch finger. It even comes with a few accessories to help you get started, like spool nets, a set of tweezers, additional needles, and pre threaded with 4 different colors so the new user can see how the threading works. The threading diagram on the inside cover is actually really easy to follow, and correct! The other machines I have used were kind of a mess in this area and I've had to get a professional to help get them rethreaded properly. (Which is expensive, and annoying!) The rule on those machines is to never let them run out of thread so that they don't have to be rethreaded. (You tie new thread on to the ends of the old thread and run it through the machine to avoid rethreading.) rethreading this machine is not only easy, but it is fast! I have been able to teach others on this machine because of how simple it is! I never worry on this machine if the thread is getting low. The adjustments to do different styles of finish are also very easy. I usually have the mess around with thread tension a bit to get it right but it works out well.
