Book Synopsis
Prevent compulsions, ease intrusive thoughts, and find relief from OCD with this gentle yet powerful approach to ERP therapy
Living with untreated obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) can be exhausting and isolating, but recovery is very possible. Exposure and response prevention therapy (ERP), a treatment based on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), helps you face your fears through mindful challenges so you can turn moments of anxiety into opportunities for calm and confidence. Backed by decades of research--and with success rates over 80 percent--ERP is proven to work, even when you practice it on your own.
Self-Guided Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy for OCD was created by an OCD specialist who has lived with the condition herself and supported a child through recovery. Designed for people new to ERP, this OCD workbook for adults will help you understand your symptoms, face fears safely, and build the resilience to manage OCD long-term.
Inside you'll find:
- A self-guided version of ERP for beginners. Discover evidence-based strategies to trigger fears and resist compulsions effectively on your own.
- CBT-based tools and step-by-step exercises. Map your OCD cycle, design exposure plans, and guide yourself through every stage of recovery.
- Therapy skills that strengthen change. Build distress tolerance, emotional awareness, and cognitive flexibility for measurable, sustainable progress.
- Self-compassion to boost recovery success. Replace self-criticism with patience and empathy; overcome setbacks with kindness, not pressure.
- Expert guidance from a trusted clinician. Benefit from the experience of an ERP expert who has helped thousands of clients overcome OCD.
Grounded in empathy and backed by science, this accessible OCD book shows that ERP doesn't have to be harsh or intimidating. It can be gentle, empowering, and deeply healing.
