Q: How do I remove the back plate which was mounted to my front door frame?

  • A: Hi Kerri U. Thank you for your question today! To remove the back plate (mounting bracket) of your Ring Battery Doorbell from your door frame, you'll need to: 1. First, remove the security screw at the bottom of the doorbell using the star-shaped (Torx) screwdriver that came with your device. 2. After removing the security screw, pull the bottom edge of the faceplate toward you to remove it. 3. Once the faceplate is removed, you should be able to access the mounting screws that secure the doorbell to the mounting bracket. 4. Remove these mounting screws to detach the doorbell from the mounting bracket. 5. The mounting bracket should now be accessible and can be unscrewed from your door frame using a Phillips-head screwdriver. If you have the Ring Battery Doorbell with a built-in battery, you may need to use the included orange wall mount removal tool to release the device from its mounting bracket. Having longevity in a battery-powered security device is crucial when it comes to monitoring your home, especially if you are away for long periods of time. We are here to provide you with some education to resolve the battery life issue you mentioned in your review. It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. There are some troubleshooting steps that you can take to ensure that you have your device set up for optimal battery-life performance. The more events captured by your Ring devices, the more your battery is used. Using "Live View" can also drain your battery faster. If your device is capturing an excessive number of events each day, you may need to recharge your battery sooner. To prevent excessive activity, under "Motion Settings" for your device in the Ring app, you can: Adjust your "Motion Sensitivity" slider to a lower sensitivity. Redraw your "Customizable Motion Zones." Change "Motion Frequency" to regularly or periodically. You could also adjust the direction of your Ring device so it doesn't detect as much motion. You can go to "Power Settings" in the Ring app to see what features may be draining your battery. To access "Power Settings," open the Ring app: Tap the menu (≡) on the top left of the dashboard. Tap "Devices." Tap the individual device (video doorbell or security camera) you want to check. Tap "Power Settings" to check your "Battery Level" percentage and "Feature Power Usage."     Feel safer

    I purchased this several years ago when I moved into my condo. I was amazed at how easy it was to install, simply remove the existing doorbell and replace it with the Ring. Easy to set up for individual needs, I love being able to see who is at my door or when a package arrives if I am at home or away.

    VERY RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE ASSOCIATE

    The associate was very rude, she came to the passenger side of my car and asked where to put package, I said driver because I was alone (I also put driver in the app when it asked me. She came around to driver side and tossed the bag to me and walked away. Very very poor customer service. I’ve NEVER been treated like this when picking up an item curbside and will NEVER have anything picked up here again. This behavior was Very unprofessional and unacceptable🤬

    One works one doesn't

    I bought 2 of these one is working just fine but with in about 10 days the other has quit working already. I plugged it up no lights no nothing. Now I've got to make a trip to the nearest Target to return it which is 2 states away from me. I'm very disappointed
