Q: How does it hold 55 knives? It doesn’t look like there are that many slots

  • A: Thank you for the question. It features 2 rows of slots and a unique hilt rest that keeps knives straight and provides ample finger space for easy removal. In total, it has an amazing 55 slots to store multiple size knives and has a separate compartment for cleavers and other utensils.

Q: My drawer is 15 3/4" wide. Can i trim this knife block on to fit this? Or is it just the depth that can be trimmed?

  • A: Thank you for your question. Yes, this item has a trimmable knife block insert. It be default is designed for use alone in drawers from 12-1/2 up to 18-1/2 inches wide. All you have to do is cut the sides and back to fit the drawer and drop it into place.

Perfect For keeping all my knives organized

This works better for my liking. Holds all my knives in one draw,love it! Highly recommend for people who love to be organized.

Would not work for most of my specialty knives.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We ordered this drawer shelf to help organize our knives. It seems we have specialty knives of all shapes and styles and having a great knife organizer can improve kitchen aesthetics, hygiene and reduce risk of injury (from knives that could otherwise have an unprotected straight edge). As you can see from the pictures, the shelf was easy to cut to size (5 minutes) and put into place. It looks nice and adds value to the kitchen. On the down side the grooves were not deep enough for our over-sized butcher knives and grill accessories. The block was so high, that there wasn't sufficient clearance for the knives when 'sheathed' in the block. For folks like me who do not have properly balanced knives, they can also topple over. Indeed, my Japanese steak knife is heavy in the hilt, so it cannot stay seated in the groove. The shelf splintered a little when cut and the product is not painted and unfinished without texture. I see value in these types of shelves, they just didn't work with my knives.

Protects people and knives

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was happy to be selected to try a wooden drawer insert to organize and protect my knives, which I carefully select, purchase, use, and wash. This wooden organizer will help me keep my knives functioning at their best for my lifetime. I like the color and finish of the wood, and the many slots for knives. If the drawer is too narrow or short for the large insert, there are instructions on how to measure the insert for sawing/cutting. It is an extra step for customization.

EZ Customizable Fit 2 Protect Knives, etc

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Rev-A-Shelf 4WDKB-1 2 Row Trimmable 55 Slot Knife Block Drawer Organizer Insert was just what my kitchen needed. After measuring not once, not twice, but three times before cutting, I affixed some painters tape on the base and at the line to prevent splintering. I only had to trim off just a few inches and it fit perfectly in my drawer and I had no splintering. Made of solid maple and maple veneer, this organizer is solid. It easily fit, stored, and protected the cutting edge of my cutting knives in the double slots and I had additional slots to store and protect my steak knives as well. Loved the two separate compartments where I could easily store my kitchen shears, pizza cutters, spatulas, etc. Grateful that it reduces the clutter and knife block on my countertops, and I now have much needed and usable space for cooking/baking. Love that I could easily customize th is knife block organizer to suit my kitchen drawer size. It was easy to do with just my measuring tape, some painters tape, a bit of sand paper, and a table saw.

Spacing seems off

Does the job and looks nice. It is solid and real wood. I don’t know what kind of knives they planned this for, but mine (JA Henkles set) don’t fit particularly well. The spacing seems off.

high quality, beautiful. knives of all sizes fit perfectly. Drawer easily stays neat & organized. Highly recommend Place this organizer. Recommend before you cut, place masking tape across the cut line, top & bottom side, then cut thru the tape. Without it, you get a rough splintered edge.

It’s big but it holds all my steak knives and butcher knives. I like the double layer for the different sizes. I had to put it in a different drawer than I wanted so I had to rearrange the other stuff a little.
