Disappointed with quality and design

First it came with chips to the headboard and some of the trim/laminate(?) on the top edge is lifting. I was able to fill the chips/dings but there’s nothing I can do about the laminate. Second, we have two other platform beds where the mattress sits almost on the top. On this bed the mattress sits four inches deep into the frame. It makes it really hard to put sheets on because you have to the lift the mattress pretty high to reach underneath. I bought a 4 inch metal “platform” to sit under the mattress and now it sits on the top of the frame and more easily accessible for bed making. We kept this bed frame even with its faults because we were in a jam and really needed it. But I was disappointed with the design and the quality of the bed.
