The base is a little lightweight, but excellent if you are mounting it somewhere which is why they give you some screws for the base. It reminds me of "studio" spot lamps which are cool. I ordered smaller LED bulbs (PAR20) and added a dimmer because the light was so bright with regular shaped bulbs. The smaller bulb is more hidden and doesn't stick out of the end of the tube. I use them in my living room corners where they sit on the floor.
