Loved it...until today

I bought this fixture a few years ago. Today, I was dusting and wiped the glass with a damp cloth (just water and cotton cloth) and all the "mercury" wiped off and they are just glass now...not sure what to do about it. probably have to get a new fixture bc it's too bright without the pretty diffuse light
