The only drawback to this chandelier is that it cannot be dimmed as it comes from the factory.

For 25 years, our family and front living room with very high ceilings (about 20 feet) had dim, shadowy and unpleasant dark shadowy areas in the upper parts of the room. The builder had not installed can lights in these ceilings and because there was no attic above them, installing hardwired ones at this point would have extremely difficult and expensive. So I decided to replace the ceiling fans in these rooms with these chandeliers. It was a great decision. Because they they throw a lot of light in all directions (we had dimmers installed), they light the entirety of these very tall rooms, including the ceilings and upper corners and make the rooms much more attractive. The lights themselves are very stylish. I love them.

I searched forever to find a chandelier I wouldn't have to special order as I have 18ft ceilings. The wire comes with 10ft so it's perfect and NOT on a chain! Like other reviews have said it does emit a TON of heat. The one cautionary flag I would advise if you're doing a dimmer (which you totally should) get the highest voltage dimmer switch you can find. My electrician had to come back the 2nd day because the 1st dimmer switch couldn't handle the voltage and there was heat coming out of my walls - I was scared an electrical fire was in my future! Happy with this order.

The lamp is beautiful and looks great above our dining table. It is well made and the color is truly gun metal like the description says. I was worried that the exposed bulbs (without shades) would make it hard to look directly at it, but that is not the case. They do give off a lot of heat, so you might want to replace them with LED Edison bulbs. We tried that too. But the LED light is too strong. We like the incandescent better; it’s a softer light. Also we ordered this lamp in the store since they didn’t have any more, and it came to our house in two days without any problems. Store salesman was also very helpful. Installing it was a bit tricky because we have a slanted ceiling. But we used a hookin the ceiling and made a loop in the cable.

I love this chandelier, it brightened up my dining room and added a level of sophistication to it. A bonus feature are the way the light bulbs add decor to the room when lit, especially on a dimmer. One thing to note is to ensure you pull the cord up to your desired level, not leaving too much slack before securing to ceiling. Otherwise totally pleased!

FYI - The light bulbs are burnt orange and give off yellow light. Lamps.com could care less.
