Not really for outdoor use

We bought 2 of these benches to use around our fire pit for extra seating. We put one outside while we continued to work on our patio. I did not put a sealant on it because I didn't expect it to fade and crack as much and as quickly as it did, especially on a covered patio. Seeing what happened to the bench that was outside, I kept the second bench in the house and use in the game room. I would not recommend this bench for outdoor use without putting a sealant on it. I was very disappointed in how quickly this bench deteriorated especially for the price.

I would buy this again, definitely!

This bench was purchased to sit at the end of a Cal King bed, it is a great addition & completes the look. It is a lifetime beautiful piece of furniture, very sturdy.

I have been wanting this for three years!!!

I have been looking at this bench for three years. Finally jumped in with 20% off. Using with our kitchen trestle table. Less chairs makes the room seem bigger and more streamlinedplus we have a beautiful Mountain View I did not want obstructed. It is quite heavy as it took two people to turn it over to attach leg brackets. There are 2 leveling screw feet on each bracket to level. My husband likes it a lot as it is chunky and substantial. It is a nice addition to sit on in any direction. Found my 30 old son even just sitting on it talking to me while I was working in the kitchen.

High makes for beauty and construction

Perfect for a safe well balanced bench on your deck. This bench will not topple or turn over. Well made, except for one peg which was not aligned properly.

Almost Wonderful

Took 20 minutes to assemble but now we have this beautiful bench with one ""wonky"" bolt that does not have an aligned hole for it to be secured into. Not sure what to do about this. Should we drill a new hole? Appreciate hearing from the Plow & Hearth folks. Thank you. (guys you know about this problem, previous customers had had the same experience, please up your quality control and claim your credibility once again)

Looks great. Very sturdy. Gets hit in sun.

I have owned many benches over time . This bench looks great. Seems To be standing up to weather conditions in Texas. It was easy to assemble. My only Con is. It is too hot to sit on in the sun. Currently April. Bench is in full sun. For the first time, it cannot be set on. I am not talking about it is too warm. I mean, no way can you stay on it! Current air temperature is 79 degrees . Put it in at least partial shade. Looks great!!

Bad Manufacturer

Awful assembly. Holes on bench did not align to holes on legs of the bench. Lead to 3 minute assembly lasting 2 hours. Had to redrill holes on the bench, carefully not to ruin it. Such a simple thing the manufacturer couldn't get right. Frustrating!

The perfect bench!

My son has been looking for a sturdy bench to use with their table, when I saw this one I knew I had found what he was looking for. He and his family love it! They have all their family meals at the table but they also do homework and crafts so they needed something that would hold up to all day use, swinging legs, and sticky fingers. This bench is the perfect answer!

Damaged product, I would not recommend

At this time of the review I am waiting on a return call from Plow & Hearth. I had high hopes for the bench garden I purchased for my Zen garden however it came damaged. Unfortunately I cannot give more than 1 star as the cost for this bench and the less than quality product does not line up. Look forward to having this resolved.

I love it!!

This beautiful bench sits on our new deck for use by our hot tub. It is sturdy and pretty and was very easy to put together. It is built from recycled wood, i think, and is a hollow box, which makes it look heavier than it is; otherwise it would be too heavy to move easily. Perfect size for 2 people (or 3) and a 500-pound weight limit!!
