Very weak wood

I realize that things today are made to sell and make the most out of you product. This product will HAVE to be reinforced in several areas to have it last more that a couple months. The bottom is too thin. Weather is going to be very taxing. I had to place it 2 x 4 treated wood to stabilize it, and keep rain from eroding the bottom. I will make my next one myself, and wish that i would have saved the money to invest in the materials. i had to use liquid nail in several places.

Review on PawHut XL Coop

The wood is pretty cheap and the ramp up to the coop was so thin and cheap it kept splitting, one of the hinges was missing and it was obvious the wood had split, the other one was barely on, we had to replace these but really no wood to attach hinges to. The roof is very nice and solid, the back wall has some gaps where rain can get in, small gaps but over time I can see this to be a problem. The directions could be a little bit better, at least the pictures clearer and bigger. The hardware was marked well but we did have some do-overs because we didn't assemble correctly. The chickens are liking it and it is very easy to clean and get to the eggs. The run is not that big, we have three chickens and I can't see where that run could be permanent. We put this coop inside a much much bigger pen and only lock them in the run over night. I'm giving it 4 stars for the easy cleaning and easy access to the eggs and the nice roof.

Good coop overall.

The only problem with this was it was a little confusing to put together at first because none of the holes lined up so you had to kinda of make your own holes. Other than that it is a pretty good chicken coop. Looks nice once it is all put together.

Looks good, but a bit flimsy

My husband put this coop together and a few pieces of the wood splintered apart. We have 10 hens and they are a bit crowded. We are going to be building a surrounding enclosure to give them more space.

Decent coop

It's a decent coop, personally not worth the money paid as it's flimsy and seems easily breakable. Will have to reinforce with extra wood in multiple places as the get bigger. Could have built the same size coop for cheaper, just thought this was convenient and would be sturdier. If your looking for convenience and not worried about anything breaking into it than it's a solid buy, we personally have a lot of foxes near us and neighbors dogs that get loose a lot and it will not hold up without reinforcing it.

Very pleased

The coop and run are great. The instructions were not complicated and the coop was easy to assemble. All the pieces were intact except for the ramp. The wood at the top of the ramp was split, and not able to be attached as is. A little wood glue should fix it so it¡¯s not a big deal though.

Not that great.

My chicken house came with a lot of chipped pieces and lots of the pieces don’t go together correctly. I wish it was more stable and had better wood quality. It’s not really wood at all. It’s too soft and super thin. I had a few pieces that were with gaps and now I have to seal and glue everything. It won’t last long if you don’t seal it. And the stairs were also broken. Not worth the money.

Great chicken coop!

My granddaughter's LARGE sized rabbit fits perfectly, with room to spare. It's very roomy and we all love it. Would recommend it to friends, family and people with rabbits or chickens.The wood is good quality and comes with the right amount of screws and all the bits and bobs. The instructions were easy to follow and easy to erect for 1 person, took 30min.

Nice coop

Easy to assemble for even an average DIY'er. Do not forget to put the dowels in every pre-drilled location. Instructions are not very clear on that. Notice the anti-predatorwiring (not included) stapled around the bottom of base. Dont waste time/money and let predators get to your birds.

Pawhut XL is A great product

This is one of the nicest, spacious, and accessible coop I have seen out there. It is well made and so stylish. The pull out tray is good but could be deeper. It comes already painted to protect it against rainy days. I will however place mine under something to protect it some more because it is so practical and nice. I would prefer however if it was built out of cedar and paint myself. I had a little issue and I called customer service. All my questions were answered and these are the words I can use to describe the experience: WOW, knowledgeable, attentive, prompt, and caring.

Very spacious

It has been easy to assemble and is quite large! We have varnished it because I do not know if the wood was treated, so just in case we have varnished. It has 6 nests so we have put six hens in and they are quite well although they are not there 24 hours a day, but we open them so they can walk around the farm. The house size is very nice and practical with its doors, windows and access to the nests! I recommend it to have happy chickens!

Easy acess!

I love the access to the inside of the coop. Easy to clean. The perfect size for my yard. I have 4 chickens. It looks bigger in the picture than it is though. The hardware could be better. I will be replacing some of the latches to the access panels. All in all pretty decent coop for the money.
