A: Hi Joe, thank you for your question. Flush-mount installation requires a fan-rated electrical box. Most standard plastic boxes cannot safely support a ceiling fan. If your box is fan-rated, you can use the included mounting bracket; otherwise, it must be replaced with a proper fan-rated box. The fan weighs approximately 13 pounds.
