Q: how does it get flush mounted using a plastic electrical box

A: Hi Joe, thank you for your question. Flush-mount installation requires a fan-rated electrical box. Most standard plastic boxes cannot safely support a ceiling fan. If your box is fan-rated, you can use the included mounting bracket; otherwise, it must be replaced with a proper fan-rated box. The fan weighs approximately 13 pounds. Stylish fan but unfortunately not going to fit in my space.
The language of ceiling fans has a learning curve and while I thought "flush mount" would mean this would work in my low ceiling room, it is not the "ceiling hugger" that I actually need, and do I cannot use it. I love the fan blade shape and the remote control but unfortunately it is too "tall" for my space.
