Author of nine books of poetry, essays, and memoir, John Daniel recently won the 2011 Oregon Book Award in creative nonfiction for his collection of essays, The Far Corner. He is the author of Rogue River Journal. A former Wallace Stegner Fellow at Stanford University and James Thurber Writer-in-Residence at Ohio State University--and a former logger, hod carrier, railroader, and rock climbing instructor--Daniel lives in the Coast Range foothills west of Eugene, Oregon.
