The lava stone is made from granite with a wood base to sit in. I haven't used it but look forward to cooking with it.

Amazing hot stone. The wood holder is nice, the stone holds heats really well, and as a bonus you can leave it at the bottom of your oven as it works as an oven heat stone

We have a local restaurant that serves """"hot rock filets"""" - we didn't want to pay a mortgage payment to go out so I ordered two of these for my birthday dinner to recreate the concept at home. They are good sized. There were 6 of us & there was plenty of room. We heated them in the oven at 550º. They stayed hot clear through dinner & still had to let them sit out to cool after. Super fun home dinner party + a fraction of the cost of going out to dinner. And we can do this again and again. Going to take them camping with us too.

Product looks nice but it's very heavy. Excited to start using it!
