Q: Why is there feet on the pan edge for tipping it out , when u have the removable insert to lift the cake out ?

A: Hello, The removable insert helps lift the cake out once it’s fully cooled. The feet are there for a different step — they let you invert the pan right after baking, which angel food cakes need so they don’t collapse. Q: What is the purpose of the 3 metal pieces that stick up above the pan?

A: Hello there- These feet allowed us to invert the pan onto a flat surface rather than try to balance it on a potentially tippy bottle for cooling. However, the bottle trick works pretty well also. Angel Food Cakes need to be inverted immediately after removal from the over - or they will collapse. Thank you - June~ Nordic Ware Consumer Service
