Q: Can you use these joy-cons with the new switch 2? And if so, do they have full Functionality as the switch 2 joy-cons?
A: Hi, thanks for reaching out about Nintendo Switch Joy-Con L/R - Pastel Purple/Pastel Green When using original Joy-Cons (from Switch 1) on the Nintendo Switch 2, you can still play almost all your favorite games wirelessly, but you will lose several physical and system-level features due to the hardware redesign. 1. No Handheld Mode (Physical Attachment) - You cannot physically attach original Joy-Cons to the Switch 2 tablet. 2. No Charging on the Console - Because the original Joy-Cons cannot slide into the Switch 2, they cannot draw power from it. 3. Missing System Buttons & Features: -No "C" Button (GameChat): The Switch 2's right Joy-Con has a new "C" button used for native system-level voice and video chat. Original Joy-Cons do not have this, so you'll have to use on-screen menus for these features. -No Mouse Mode: The Joy-Con 2 has an optical sensor on the bottom that allows it to be used as a mouse on a flat surface. Original Joy-Cons do not have this sensor. -No "Wake" Support: Many users have reported that original Joy-Cons cannot wake the Switch 2 from sleep mode wirelessly; you often have to press the power button on the console itself first.
