Book Synopsis
"Children will be starstruck with this monstrously interactive bedtime story."-School Library Journal
This companion to the bestselling classic Go Away, Big Green Monster!, which has sold over a million copies and is now celebrating over 30 years in print, boasts a similar, "monsterously" fun format and features die-cuts on every spread.
With each turn of the page, readers reveal Little Green Monster's little yellow eyes, his little red mouth, and even a cute, tiny white monster tooth. Then, when the stars begin to appear, it's time for bed... so, nighty night, little yellow eyes. Nighty night, little red mouth. Nighty night, cute little white tooth. Sweet dreams! This ingenious, interactive book is sure to help little readers settle down for bedtime.
Review Quotes
"A baby sibling for a modern childhood classic."--Kirkus Reviews
"Children will be starstruck with this monstrously interactive bedtime story."--School Library Journal
"Just as Emberley's book Go Away, Big Green Monster (1993) allowed young children to send away a potentially scary big monster, the new book lets them do the same to a charming little monster...Cleverly designed and sturdy, the die-cut pages are tough enough to endure plenty of finger pokes, hand grabs, and page turns, which are sure to come as young children explore this engaging picture book."--Booklist
"Like this book's classic predecessor, Go Away, Big Green Monster, listeners turn die-cut pages to reveal, body part by body part, a little monster....This is a simple bedtime story and a subtle introduction to color and the body."
--The Horn Book
"Twenty years after Go Away, Big Green Monster! Emberley uses die-cuts to introduce readers to a new monster, and this one's much younger (and far less scary) than its predecessor....Just the thing for children to wind down with after a candy-fueled Halloween night."--Publishers Weekly
