Turned my hair black
I should have read the reviews first. This product turned my light brown hair jet black in only 20 mins. My hair now feels dry and brittle. Do not make my mistake, stay away from this product.

Leaves hair greasy. Prob should be liquid not cream based. Lasts two weeks.

Since the Natural Instincts is a demi-permanent hair color, it cannot lighten natural or previously colored hair but is intended to last up to 28 washes. Easy on Scalp Great Product!
I bought this product about a month ago and I’m really happy with it! I have very sensitive scalp. I have tried different hair color products which irritated my scalp but with Natural Instincts I don’t have any problems at all.

Bought the medium brown 5 to even out my blond highlights & match my roots. Came out jet black although the box looks like a chestnut medium brown! The last medium brown i used came light brown bc i have lots of natural blonde highlights. So upset. Will never buy or recommend this hair color to anyone!

Another Man Abandoned By This Company. Natural Instincts for Men, was suddenly and without an alternative, Cancelled like Weinstein. So as many others, I'm a guy looking for something like M9 in the men's color, ie light brown. You'd think there'd be a page devoted to the men who patronized Clairol for years, directing them to alternatives. That would require that this company cared about men. So here we are. . . I tried Light Brown 6. The result was blondish hair that looks like it was combed with brass shavings. Even if I went with 6c Brass Free, I can't believe that it would change the blondness of the color. I look at medium browns and well . . . there are complaints this results in almost black hair. Yeah, yeah, yeah, call the company. We should not have to. There should be a page devoted to men using this company's products, where we see a chart directing us to the correct product if we used M9 or that product if M11 etc.

Since you were using the Natural Instincts for Men M9 Light Brown, we would recommend trying out our Natural Instincts 6A Light Cool Brown, or even the 6C Brass Free Light Brown. Both of these shades have an ash/cool tone to them to help prevent that brassiness that you were getting. Please know that other consumers' results are factored on many different variables, but if you feel the color is too light, you can try switching to either the 5A or the 5C. The best thing we would advise is to perform the strand test to get a preview of the color results before applying it all over to make sure you are getting the expected results, and the 48-hour allergy test to ensure that you do not have any sensitivities to the product. This dye doesn’t even have a purple sheen in the light. It’s just black. Nice dye if you want black hair, not so much if you’re expecting color.

Horrible I bought the 4 dark brown thinking it would be a nice winter color and it turned my hair completely black except for my original blond pieces i left in front, do not recommend at all!

Great results for my purpose.
My goal is to slightly even out my color as more white hair grows in. This slightly lightens my darkest blonde hair creating less contrast at the roots without a hard line as my hair grows out. This is not great for covering gray or white hair because that’s nots its intended purpose. On my hair this does not completely fade away So I aim to only touch up the root area which is a bit tricky. It would be easier if the applicator tip was more of a comb instead of a single tip. I appreciate the more natural ingredients and better smell.

Not Auburn!
I’ve used various dark blonde/lightest brown shade of this product for years and love them. But the 6R Light Auburn color is NOT auburn. It’s burgundy, almost purple, and the coverage is really inconsistent. Wish I had read the reviews first be use the results were very much not as expected.

Regretful
This is my biggest disappointment with hair coloring. I typically look for ammonia free hair color to cover my gray. Since my go-to brand was out of stock, I purchased Natural Instints 5A. After following all instructions, my gray hair is Yellow! Not blonde, an ugly shade of yellow!!! I regret the decision to purchase this, will never use this again!

Terribly disappointed!
I bought medium brown just wanting to cover my greys and now my head is jet black! Not brown at all! I’m highly disappointed, upset, and embarrassed. I suggest changing the name on the box to prevent anyone else having to go through this. Completely misleading and a flat out lie!

My roots didn't colour ‼️ not happy‼️‼️
I bought yjiscouple weeks ago and used it yesterday I applied it to my roots first then rest my hair waitedthe time it said rinsed it put conditioning mask on and waited then let my hair dry naturally to see my roots didn't take none the colour.. I was so disappointed.. What waist of my money now I have one other box left two since I bought two.. And will just have throw it out what waste of my money will not buy this dye again..

Not true colour
The the colour is not true. I bought the medium Golden brown and it was very very dark. It’s so close to black even my hair was light brown and I wish to have a light golden brown so now I bought the 8A I hope it’s changed it and make it better. But the good thing that’s my hair is so healthy and gloaming and it’s not dry at all! confused about this brand.

There is NOTHING Auburn about the 6R Light Auburn. It is burgundy. It has violet tones (you see them during the pause time) in it and not an inch of orange/copper in sight. The picture on the box is totally misleading, I'm not happy. I had golden natural (my hair gets paler/golden during summer) hair and I wanted a redhead natural look for autumn. This is really annoying and frustrating.

Perfect! Nice and natural.
Natural Instincts Shade = 9 Light Blonde. Covered greys. My natural colour is mousey brown and I had approx 4 inches of roots to dye. The rest is bleached. This blends in so well. Delighted. No strong smells either. Hair feels lovely and soft. I left it on for approx 25 minutes, not the 15 recommended.

Too dark, but at least it covers the gray.
This product was great for covering the grays, but I ended up with a very dark brown head of hair instead of the light brown shade on the box. Way too dark and I am not happy with the color. Will have to try a dark blonde the next time to get the results I wanted.
