About this item

Highlights

  • Myler Level 2 Mouthpiece: Features a 1/4" low port that provides significant tongue relief, allowing your horse to swallow easily and stay relaxed under pressure.
  • Independent Side Movement (ISM): The patented central barrel allows each side of the bit to move independently, enabling precise lateral cues for bending or lifting a shoulder without affecting the opposite side.
  • Sweet Iron & Copper Inlays: The mouthpiece encourages salivation and bit acceptance through a sweet-tasting oxidation process and moisture-reactive copper inlays.
  • Dressage Legal Design: Fully compliant with USEF (since 1/2012) and FEI (since 7/2016) dressage regulations, making it a reliable choice for competitive performance.
  • Ergonomic Curved Bar: The wide, curved barrel is designed to distribute pressure evenly across the bars and lips, preventing the pinching and palate pressure common in traditional single-jointed snaffles.
  • Premium Stainless Steel Loose Rings: The loose ring design provides a "floating" feel that allows the bit to self-adjust to the horse's mouth position, discouraging the horse from leaning on the bit.

Unlock your horse’s true potential by replacing resistance with relaxation through the Myler MB 04’s innovative tongue-relief design. This Level 2 bit transforms subtle cues into clear communication, fostering a soft, responsive partnership that excels in both daily schooling and elite competition.Meticulously engineered from high-quality stainless steel and sweet iron, the MB 04 features an ergonomic curve that wraps naturally around the bars and lips. The signature sweet iron mouthpiece is designed to oxidize over time, creating a pleasant taste that, paired with strategic copper inlays, encourages salivation and a more supple, accepting jaw.Key Features & Specifications: Sweet Iron & Copper Inlays: The mouthpiece encourages salivation and bit acceptance through a sweet-tasting oxidation process and moisture-reactive copper inlays. Frequently Asked Questions:Q: How do I ensure the correct fit for the Myler MB 04 Loose Ring?A: Myler bits utilize "Myler Plus" sizing, measuring 1/8" larger than stated to ensure the mouthpiece clears the horse's lips. For this loose ring design, you should see 1/8" to 1/4" of the mouthpiece on each side of the lips to prevent the rings from pinching and to allow the Independent Side Movement to function optimally.Q: Is this bit suitable for a horse transitioning from a basic Level 1 snaffle?A: Yes, the MB 04 is the quintessential Level 2 transitional bit. It is ideal for green horses with a steady disposition or those ready to progress to more refined aids, offering the tongue relief necessary to help the horse "find the bit" and relax at the poll.Q: Why does the mouthpiece look like it is rusting?A: That is the "Sweet Iron" doing its job! The mouthpiece is designed to oxidize, which creates a sweet taste that horses find highly palatable, significantly increasing salivation and bit acceptance compared to standard stainless steel.Item Number/SKU: 89-28047

    Completely fix bit crunching!!!

My horse was crunching hard on the bit (double jointed loose ring snaffle with copper losenge) as soon as bridled, during lunge and riding. He also did the same in a single joint steel snaffle. From minute 1 trying this mylar bit the problem went away like magic. He's not crunched that bit once and it's been 3 weeks! This is the first product I've ever tried that actually works like you hear about. Also now beginning to school lateral movements that were not working before! Highly recommend this bit!!!

    Perfect for a sensitive TB

I have a very sensitive TB who can also be a bit spicy and also appreciated having more space for her tongue. This big is perfect!! And the fact that it is legal for dressage makes it even more perfect

    (no review title)

The bit is well made I like the pinchless design on the rings. My horse is extremely opinionated and touchy about what goes in his mouth and he didn't object to this (full disclosure I had it wrapped with sealtex - as I do all bits for him) he just didn't like it quite as well as the bit I already have for him (HS dynamic wh ultra dee) so I sent it back. Great bit though and would think definitely worth the money and would be a well received choice for many horses. the curve for tongue relief did seem slightly narrow I was expecting wider but that's just my opinion - horse didn't seem to mind!

    Nice bit

I bought this bit wanting to try something a little different for my mare who is used to going in a french link to see if she liked it better. I haven't noticed a huge change, but I do like the fit of it and the curve to it so I plan to stick with it. Fit is great - she's got a small mouth and it's hard to find bits that come in 4 and 3/4

    Excellent bit

It took my mare a few minutes to get used to her new comfort snaffle - but now she loves it. No more chomping or gaping her mouth. I can ride 100% loose rein - when I lightly pick up one rein or the other, she responds instantly. Very happy with this purchase. Myler bits are the way to go.

I am impressed at the response I get with this bit on a high headed saddlebred. It truly encourages him to reach for the bit with confidence.

    Good progressive bit.

This bit allows extra room for my horse's large tongue, but is still straight across the line of the bit as it has to be because of his small mouth.

    Myler makes all the difference

I've been trying to find a bit that my draftx likes for four years. I tried my trainer's Myler level 1 Dee and liked it, but it wasn't quite right so I purchased this bit. It has made all the difference! In two weeks he's been happy and round and totally accepting of this bit, I bought it intending for it to be our dressage bit and I'm about to buy another one to put on our jumping bridle. Highly recommend any Myler bit, they work so well for all horses, especially those with shallow pallets.

    Get Results

This bit was great for my lesson horse who chomped her single joint bit and dove in around the corners with students. She is much quieter and softer with this bit.
