submitted byAj - 5 months agoA: Thanks for asking! The Murphy Oil Soap Wood Cleaner can be used on colorfast washable fabrics. Wet stain and apply MOS liquid full strength to laundering as usual. This treatment should be applied quickly after the stain occurs, in most cases stains are too well set for any remedy to work. Use two full capfuls of MOS per gallon of cold water and follow washing instructions on fabric.

A: Since we have not tested our Murphy Oil Soap Liquid Wood Cleaner for use on leather, we would not recommend you use it to clean any type of leather. For usage on vinyl, we recommend diluting 1/4 cup of liquid Murphy's per gallon of warm water.

A: Hello, yes this can be used to clean the inside of a car that has a leather interior only! We recommend using the oil soap like a leather conditioner on leather furniture or your vehicles dashboard area or upholstery (not cloth). Use the oil soap at full strength and apply it to a dry cloth. Work it over the area, then use a second cloth to buff it.

A: Hey we're sorry you're having trouble finding the directions on the label. We recommend diluting 1/4 cup of liquid Murphy's per gallon of warm water, and for heavy cleaning, Use 1/2 cup per gallon of warm water. We hope this helps!

A: Hey there! we recommend using our Murphy's soap as directed on the bottle. This formula has not been tested to be used in a spray bottle to be used later. For a spray option check out our Murphy Cleaning Spray. 🙂

A: For Murphy's oil, we recommend applying the product with the help of a cloth and letting the surface air-dry for the best dry surface. It should not be sticky or slippery afterwards. However, liquid Murphy Oil Soap must be diluted in water unless cleaning leather or pre-treating fabric. On most surfaces, application directly from the bottle may result in a sticky surface.

Best laundry booster
I have used murphys oil directly on grease stains on clothing and they come out every time. Not only does it remove laundry stains, but deodorizes musty/smelly laundry. I use it on all of my flooring too!

New vs old Formula
I have always used Mrs. Murphy soap for all of the wood floors/furniture and even removing oil/stains from clothes before washing. Now with the new look/same formula, it’s hardly the same formula. It’s watered down, less thick, need to use more than the original. Disappointing. I understand marketing with change but it’s NOT the same. Even comparing my old original to the new original, the difference is huge. Please reconsider your marketing or formula….bottom line is profit but quality is worth more…

Brought the wood back to its natural beauty!
A friend just gave me a very old wood cockoo clock. It is beautiful, but very dusty and dirty. I knew Murphy’s was my go to for cleaning it. I diluted the soap with water, and cleaned the clock with a soft bristle brush. It came out far better than expected. It shines beautifully! The whole family has commented on how stunning this old clock looks, and all I did was carefully clean it with diluted Murphy’s! Thanks for this awesome product. Now I’ll start the clock repair.

This is NOT the same as it used to be. Scent has changed And More importantly the effectiveness of the product. Leaves a film and does not work as well. Causes more work. Now why would I do that ? If you are looking to loose customers-continue on.

What changed with Murphy oil soap?
I have used Murphy oil soap for years but something has changed. The color is lite and pale and it doesn’t even smell the same. It still cleans but I’m using more to get the same cleaning results. I’m sure they are going to say nothing has changed but anyone who used this in the past would see the difference.

Bring back the real original
Bring back the old formula. The one you started selling a few years ago dries out the wood and leather. I looked at the ingredients on my last, old container and compared to the new one and they are different. I'll try to get a photo. Also, the past was better than the liquid for our purposes. We used to get a large tub of the paste every couple of months.

Bought this today thinking it was the original. Got home and opened it. Didn't notice it uses citronella oil in the formula. The smell made me want to throw up. Why would anyone want there house to smell like that? Threw it away. What happened to the original?

Fantastic wood cleaner
There is nothing better than Murphys Oil soap to wash wood. I've used it for over 35 years. It smells wonderful. It leaves your wood floor, cabinets, baseboards, window trims etc so clean and for lack of a better word, moisturized.
