I enjoyed a few glasses of this as an old fashioned with bourbon substituted for this rum. A finish and aroma reminiscent of vanilla and caramel. It’s an affordable and safe option.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like Mount Gay Eclipse Heritage Blend when I want a rum that feels easy to drink and easy to mix. Compared with Mount Gay XO, this one feels a little lighter, brighter, and more casual. XO tastes richer and deeper to me, while Eclipse feels more relaxed and a little more fruity. I notice some vanilla and caramel in the flavor, and also a slight woody note at the end. The balance works well for me because it still feels smooth and not too heavy. I especially like mixing it with fresh juice. It does not feel too strong or too complicated. That kind of simple drink tastes very refreshing and easy to enjoy, especially on a relaxed weekend with friends. For me, Mount Gay XO is the one I would pick when I want something a little fuller and richer, and Eclipse is the one I would reach for when I want something lighter, easier, and more everyday. Both are good, but they give a slightly different feeling. Please enjoy responsibly.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have never tried this type of rum before because to be honest, I’m not very big on aged rums. so when the opportunity presented itself, I tried it and I was BLOWN AWAY. Tastes amazing. It has this very natural taste of cane sugar (which rum is made of), but because it was aged in an oak barrel, it adds just more of that complexity to the flavor. I love the packaging. It looks great. Also, as a sidenote, I was surprised that this was the top shelf type liquor. I will be definitely buying it again for myself.

The taste is oaky, brown sugar and light smokiness.the aftertaste is crisp with a hint of almond and mocha. perfect for cocktails like rum punch or coke and rum.

It was not overly sweet and went down smooth on the rocks. I look forward to enjoying this in the coming warm months with some mixers. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used this to make hurricanes and they were great. I don’t drink straight rum so this was too strong for me personally to drink on plain ice but I never drink liquor straight, would recommend for a cocktail ingredient though. Great spice flavor.

There is another brand that does not import to California you can get at duty free shops in Florida if your travels go through there. They being said I always try any new rum products I find coming out of the region. I’ve had a few that never compare. I rarely drink anything for the past 12-15 years but again I will try to find something that tastes lukewarm this heritage memories. All of that being said, this is the closest rum from the region I’ve had that tastes like the OG competitor brand. It’s a great tasting rum and my new substitute since I don’t travel to the Florida or have friends and family that come through there often either. It’s a great rum, mixes easy with a soda. Simple clear and basic label with little advertising etc. meaning good high quality and all about the paler and taste and not about 30 different flavors and time of year or celebrity endorsements. In my youth I’d be pounding this instead of nasty captain. I do not drink much anymore but I will relax with a rum and coke of this once a month for nostalgia now. Give it a shot or find original VAT19 but this is a great rum

It reminds me of being on an island enjoying the beach or having fun at the swim up bar. I truly enjoyed the taste. Not overpowering or extra strong. The smell made we want to book a vacation to Jamaica.

It's very fruity and has a warm flavor like almonds and vanilla. I like that it doesn't taste as serious as the other rums I've tried in the past and is quite delightful.
