Description

Crank it up to 11 using this 20-watt, 1x8 Guitar Combo Amplifier from Monoprice! This guitar amp employs a 20-watt amplifier driving an 8-inch, 4-ohm speaker. It features both a solid clean tone and an overdrive tone with 86dB of gain. It has a line level output, which allows you to send the output to a recorder or mixing board. The 3.5mm headphone jack disables the speaker when in use, so you can practice in total privacy. Unlike most amps, which top out at 10, this amp has been engineered with volume controls that go to 11! This allows you to crank along at 10 for most of a show then, when you want that extra push over the cliff, you can crank it up to 11 and really send the audience into a frenzy!

nice amp for the money, but will need mods

The amps circuitry is very nice tonally, however its speaker and 3 band eq need improvement. if you get this amp, know that the speaker is too bassy and high pitches are awful. so if you replace the speaker and play around alot with the eq till its acceptable. its a nice tone overall. cabinet construction is solid. gets loud if you want. good beginner amp or for others with the speaker upgrade. I put a jensen special design in mine, nice tones.

Good practice amp

I ordered this amp with a guitar the amp is solid but after using it a few days I was shopping for an upgrade. The build and features are nice for an amp at this price. I would recommend if you are on a budget, but if you have more to spend there are better options.

Monoprice 1x8 20 Watt SS Combo

This amp has very good sound especially for the price. The sound is better than quite a few similar sized amps that have effects. Having a mid range control on board helps this and a key ingredient. The Overdrive channel is pretty good especially with the gain control set at 2-3. and master at 7-8. Above that starts to gradually become a fuzz. I don't think this is quite what a metal type player would want gain wise but there is always the pedal option. It works well with a delay pedal and a 12 string pedal. So far I have around 6 hours of actual playing time on it and hope it continues to perform well. FWIW I have a Bugera 5 watt tube combo cover and it fits this amp slightly loose but does the job.

very happy!!!

just getting back into playing after a few decades off. this amp has good tone, the gain is good and the volume is plenty to practice and/or play at a small venue. VERY PLEASED !!!! Not a lot of bells and whistles.... but very good basic sound quality (now I need to get my playing back to where it once was )
