Q: Does this disinfectant kill germs for COVID-19? If so, is this registered on the EPA list of approved disinfectants used against COVID-19?

A: I could not find an EPA registration number for this anywhere, and therefore cannot cross reference with the EPA list that details which cleaners break down COVID-19. I would err on the side of no until an EPA number is provided and can be referenced on that list.

submitted byHickory - 5 years agoA: It contains citric acid, which is considered a disinfectant on the EPA list. It's not on the EPA list itself, but it is on the "New York State Registered Disinfectants Based on EPA List" (on the NY gov't website). I assume the percentage of citric acid is the question. The lowest percentage I saw on the EPA website was 6%, and this contains 5%.

Q: How do you recommend using this product? spray & wipe? spray & wait? wipe or don't wipe? damp cloth or paper towel? I see no instructions on bottle or in description. What have I missed? Thank you:-)

A: great question! for general cleaning you can simply spray + wipe right away. to disinfect, spray until thoroughly wet, let sit for 10 minutes + wipe. for sanitizing non-porous surfaces, spray until wet + wipe after 5 minutes. feel free to use whatever rag, cloth or paper toweling you use in your cleaning routine.

Awful smell, mediocre strength
I am very sensitive to smell, which is a big trigger for me and migraine. I was on the hunt for a bathroom cleaner for my new apartment and bought this because they didn’t have my usual safe scents and it was the only scent I could find that would at least be new for me to try. Every other scent in the aisle was either citrus which makes me nauseous and triggers migraine, or eucalyptus which I try to avoid in my house because I have a little kitty. I know scent is very subjective, but to provide more information so someone can evaluate whether my reaction is similar to what theirs will be — the only cleaning scents I can tolerate are ones labeled like “Fresh Scent” or “Rain Water” which, again, I looked for but couldn’t find in the aisle at my Target. So this was my option. And I like spearmint gum and felt like it soooort of fits into that “fresh scents” category I like. Well. I don’t even know how to describe the scent except to say it just smells WRONG. For a split second, it hits your nose like “Oo okay spearmint!” but then it quickly turns into some weird combination of cough medicine, industrial cleaner, and vomit? It is UNSETTLING. Again, I know scent is SO subjective and I hate reading reviews that say “Smells bad” because how am I supposed to know if I’LL think it smells bad? So I hope my details about what scents I like and don’t like will help you decide if you will feel the same. Scent aside, the cleaner was whatever. I wouldn’t mind it for a brief daily cleanup, but I do not recommend it for a more serious clean, whether as intense as a DEEP clean, or even just the simple weekly scrub-down. I hate wasting and typically like to finish a product I dislike before buying something new, but I honestly think this is serious enough of an assault to my nose that I’m buying something else after just one use.

The scent is so mild and good like it doesn’t feel extra. Products from Method are always supportive of value for money. I usually go for such products that are good but also doesn’t hurt your pockets.

SAVE MONEY & HAVE A CLEAN HOME
This is one of my repeat buys that I can’t imagine ever living without again! My bathroom smells amazing once I clean with this and it really does a great job at cleaning! Not only does it have a great price, but it’s also eco friendly! Fresh scent and eco-friendly formula, but not quit
This cleaner works fine for light bathroom cleaning, but I didn’t find it strong enough for tougher grime or buildup. The spearmint scent is pleasant and not too overpowering, which I liked. I also appreciate that it’s a more environmentally friendly option, and the packaging is sleek and easy to use. For the price, I expected a bit more cleaning power, but it’s a good choice for everyday maintenance rather than deep cleaning.
