Great challenge for toddlers past the easy puzzles
This is the only puzzle we could find that is a little challenging to my 20 month old but after 3 rounds he now does it without help and makes the states. The frustration part is that the pieces can slide around as you build but I think it’s good for his motor skills to carefully place them and move them into their spot. Wish I could find more non jig saw harder puzzles like this!

Inaccurate state lines/shapes. Can NOT be used for educational purposes.
Do not buy this. The states are not accurately depicted. They will not match ANY other educational resource. Look closely at the East Coast and you’ll see examples. Poor execution especially for a brand that prides itself on realistic representation.

Not User Friendly
I LOVE Melissa & Doug products and my kids have many of their items. So it pains me to give such a low review, but I hate this puzzle, and my daughter and husband do too. Hard to explain, but there's no niche for each piece to fit into- the puzzle pieces all just line up with each other, and it's a tight fit. Really tight. So my daughter will put down Nebraska, and then when trying to put in the states around it, everything moves around a lot, which frustrates her because she's constantly putting the state back to its outline. As you come to completion of the puzzle, the states are so closely fit together that I have to really push them down and get them perfectly into place for them to fit. We've tried this puzzle twice and I think we're going to get a replacement, one that is a bit more user friendly.
